EVEN MORE PICS!!! Got this for five bucks today, bought it because it was old, looked cool, and cheap. No rust, and the wiring has cloth insulation, so what is it from? UPDATED!!!! Got some wierd measurements for you:
14 gauge wire, cloth
Glass lens
13 mm hex nut - weird- would have thought Standard...
EDIT: Guess it could be 1/2 inch...
Kinda looks like old buick turn signal, but doesn't match the style, or that of REO's. Kinda dumbfounded...
UPDATE:
cleaned up shweet... Still don't know what they are, but seems high quality!

What color are the bulbs? Turn signals off an old motorcycle maybe?

my first thought was turn signals, but it has a clear bulb and Lear. I searched antique turn signals and they were all Amber.
Kinda weird...

just for food for thought, you could advertise them on a chopper site for custom headlights & probably get $75 to $100 each. if interested I will name a good example
I am with either a cowl light, backup light, or turn indicator, however it would be possible to have been used on a vintage riding lawnmower or tractor.

Good thought. I plan on removing all of the paint and polishing out the metal first. Maybe I will uncover something. :|

You could try removing multiple layers of paint and see if there are any brand names underneath.

there were many old housings made of brass, food for thought, even if painted & there is chrome under, the chrome could be over brass. it doesnt hurt to know

With that color of paint I think you may have something from an old tractor or another piece of farm equipment. They're small enough that I think they were most likely an add on kit that farmer could add on themselves.

Looks like old lights for a bicycle generator. I used to have some similar to that, but I dont ride in the dark anymore.

Old bicycle lights. People actually used to strap batteries to their bikes in order to ride at night.
Look to be Bauer, a German light manufacturer. Probably in the $100 to $150 range a piece. Relatively popular artifact as well, wouldn't have an issue selling on eBay.

Are you sure it's not a 1/2" nut? 1/2" and 13mm are really close in size, close enough that wear or corrosion or paint layers could make it impossible to tell the difference
You can tell a Finn but you can't tell him much

13mm is directly interchangeable with 1/2", so they might well be standard nuts.

Anything before 1963 has good odds of being clear. Amber turn signals were adopted by the US auto industry in '63 and only became mandatory in '67. Plenty of old cars have clear front signals.
