this area looks weird. Needs a bit of trim between the windows and the roof.

its just a sketch but I agree all those pieces need to work together and void being to bulky the space between the top of the side door window and the roof are what annoy me most. I was trying with a more flat plane from windhsield to c pillar but it looks really dumb needs to be a curve then the c pillar angle needs to be adjusted and it just keeps goin round this is as close as I could get it and it looks pretty good and does need some tuning but is real close i think. i really think the style of roof would look nice on a miata as the car is rather similar to a MG GT.

I think you're looking for this.
The Frontline Developments LE50. An MGB GT body with Miata engine and gearbox, tuned obviously. 0-60 in 5 seconds, 160mph tops.

holy balls. thats awesome. sadly I only have a miata and im guessing this is way out of my price range which is about $5k the most I ever paid for a car.

It is rather expensive.
$77,000. Although it might be cheaper if you have donor car.

I found just the car for you. 1970 MGB GT V8 Sebring Evocation, even comes with the steering wheel on the wrong side for £15,900 (USD$25,450).

Actually I've got to ask why this wasn't a factory option.
Looks awesome.

yeah those look really good but they are also $2k or more. I was trying to do something a bit more retro and I always loved the MG GT.

For USD$2k there are generic and genuine Mazda hardtop roofs on eBay, etc... but for anything more than these roofs the cost escalates as the market is pretty small for each manufacturer of these types of roofs as there are a few about.
Are you on any Mazda, Mazda Miata, Mazda MX-5 websites or forums? They can be a wealth of information. A lot of it pretty useless till it becomes relevant then it becomes invaluable.
Found this one on miata.net if it helps fill a gap till you find the one your after.

Go with the Buick/Rover all aluminum V8 instead of the for 302. Buick/Rovers 3.5 liter V8 just doesn't get the respect it deserves. It is a great, great engine.

Just found this searching for "miata hatchback".

why the 302 Ford? the 215 engine if you hunt to buy a Buick Olds or Pontiac 1961-1963 the blocks were all aluminum, & could be bored to use the SVO mustang turbo pistons with sleeves installed in the block, & a set of 1964 Buick 300 Heads were all aluminum, to complete the swap, & wind up with an all aluminum 305.
the old 215 is what the British bought the rights to make, but the british stuff tends to be higher priced for basically the same, so why not use the original.

cuz a 302 will make more power for less money and are easier to find. also boring and sleeving a block is expensive. and a 302 has a crapton more aftermarket.
