A friend of mine and I went to out local Autozone to buy some stuff for our Jeeps. As I'm getting the price on some parts looked up, my friend notices a snake's tail.

"There's a snake back there," my friend said calmly.

"Where?" I asked, excited because I like snakes.

"OH MY GOD! AHHHHHHH!" the sales clerk yelled.

The little guy is behind the posters they velcro to the parts shelves behind the counter. Once I notice the tail, I see that it's black with yellowish tan. It's just a baby Garder Snake. The sales clerk helping me runs out of the store. Another employee looks on, sheepishly. Finally a third employee comes and grabs some channel locks and starts to pull at the snake. He's afraid of getting bit.

At this point I realize I should have offered to remove the snake, if they'll give me a reduced price on a pair of gloves I use to move it. I'm sure the snake would have preferred that to channel locks as well.

After the poster is lifted off, it's revealed the poor snake is stuck to the velcro. About a minute or two later, the snake is free, outside.

So, cheers to Autozone and nature for making my afternoon. Oh yeah, and I bought a Hot Wheels Ferrari F12berlinetta while I was there too. Good way to remember the story for the future.

Kudos to them not killing the snake, even though I'm petrified of snakes.

I would have opted for the hammer removal method. Hate snakes so much.
