I'm excited to put these on! I was in the process of doing it last week but it was like 80 all week so I figured I would wait a week or two and let it cool down. Hurry up and get cold, weather!

While I do like snow, I can make fire and drink beer without it....
I don't however like the road salt and other crap they put on the roads.

Yes, dem Blizzaks. On Sunday I have a rallyX to go to in which it might snow, so good timing.

I've had one Chicago winter since moving from Arizona, and I do not want another! lol
The FR-S will make for a fun rally stage style commute to work, but these winters suck. haha I'd much rather have a winter like that in Colorado.

We're supposed to get rain with possible snow tomorrow. It is too warm for it to stick though, but I might throw the snows on the Camry Saturday just to be safe.
Last year I missed an opportunity to put them on, and had to drive through slushy crap with near-bald all seasons. NEVER AGAIN.

I actually got my Conti's DWS today for the next year, nice change from the Summer-Only when it snows, or rains, or its cold, lol.

No more winter tires for me from this year!!! Damn does it feel good!! Sooooooooo good! I can actually properly enjoy a sports car all year long instead of just "managing to not destroy it" 5months per year :)

I'm considering putting mine on this coming weekend, depends if I get the time to make the 3 hour round trip to the garage they're patiently waiting in. Was going to wait until Thanksgiving like I usually do, but I'm not sure I can pull it off this year; these summer tires do not like the cold/slush.

we got slammed by winter storm atlas last year so I mounted a set of artic Altimax on my Corolla and I have studded winter tires for my montero, but nobody will mount them with a broken stud. We haven't seen winter here yet either.

I moved from Illinois to NC to get the fug out of the winter. So far it's been unsuccessful.
However, the most fun I ever had in winter was back when I had my AWD TBSS (with a tad more power than stock) on Blizzaks. Holy amazeballs was that fun. Grip like no other...unless you didn't want grip.

haha...welcome to the midwest. at least you're far enough north that you get a real winter...i feel like once you start getting to the southern part of illinois winters would suck...it's cold enough to not be able to go do a lot of things but too warm for snow to stick around very long

the difference between these and normal tyres is?
macanamera
> pip bip - choose Corrour
10/31/2014 at 09:04 | 0 |
A lot of things: tread pattern, tire compound (much softer, designed to retain flexibility and grip at sub zero temperatures), more flexible sidewalls.
Winter tires make an enormous difference. Until you use them, it's hard to explain. More than anything, it makes braking in snow or slush 10x better, which is probably the most important thing.

reason i ask is i've never used any , no need for them here in Australia ever , unless you live all year at the ski resorts maybe , where i am we might get snow abut once every 7-8 years , and even then it's all gone by the end of the day , as it's a very very light covering

Oi! Australia mate? Let's go find some bogans and get some goon bags and play goon of fortune and find some nice sheilas and have us a root and then head into the bush and get attacked by drop bears!
Sorry lol
