My wife, like most japanese love stuff "you can only get there!! or there!! Or there!" This si the reason why japanese always have this or that limited edition car, that you're not gonna have, or that limited edition video game console you're not gonna have or this limited edition beer you're not gonna drink...
Well, welcome to the limited editions burgers at McDonalds.
The "kuroi and shiroi" burgers.
They're not bad really, the white burger is very classical despite having some kind of camembert-ish cheese in it, but the black burger was actually pretty decent... I could even taste some spicies in it which is rather rare in a McDonald's burger of any kind...
Anyway, enjoy a burger "you can only get here", like so many other things :)

Hiragana yes... but Katakana, I struggle and kanjis, just forget it :)

A little but not really well at all... Kind of a shame considering that my now-wife is japanese and that we've been together for 9 years lol

I don't get it, I always have a hard time with katakana too... But for some reason the Japanese seem to think it should be easier...

Yeah, we met while we were both living in Seattle... the worst is that she has learned french while me... meh.... :)

faster to write I guess, but they really tend to all look alike to me... I don't like them :)

While on work travel in Okinawa, (realizing Okinawa is Ryukyuan, about as Japanese as me) my co-worker and I had a good time trying out the unique offerings at McD's there for lunch one day. All different, and a lot of it actually quite tasty. We also spent one evening tracking down a limited edition game controller he wanted. Japanese toy stores are awesome! I couldn't figure out how to get the giant model kit of Space Battleship Yamato home with me, though. Settled for a couple of Domo's for my son and me. I wish I could spend more time in more of Japan. Maybe a family vacation in the future.

Well, it's a Halloween special, so it is made to look gross :)
The sauce that you can also see in the 3rd picture, is also completly black and gross looking. It is done on purpose though ;)

Part of how I make a (rather good) living here, is by selling video games so I know of those quests and shops quite a bit haha :)

Kanji also tends to look like Katakana sometimes to me:
