For whatever the reason I believe Henry would be very happy with how far his company has come. If you think about it the company is still a basic transportation every man's car company. Sure certain cars like the Ford GT cost six figures. For the most part however, the company still exists to serve the working class person who wants "basic" modern transportation. Sorry I am think aloud everyone it is just a thought.

A Ford company run by Henry Ford would be very different that than Ford of today. Cars would be cheaper, selection would be worse, and profits, well I'm not sure how those would change.
Ford was an insanely stubborn, kept the same car in production for nearly 20 years with little to no changes. When engineers built a new prototype, behind Ford's back, Ford destroyed it. Ford of today would be an interesting place with Henry in charge.

All typos aside, I think he'd be happy... except for the fact that Jews aren't marginalized the way they were back in the day.
A great mind for business doesn't necessarily mean a great human was behind it.

His overt anti-Semitism was always a problem for me, a secular Jew, as was the America Firster nonsense in the runup to WWII. Still, I thought surely the company had changed - bought a '97 SHO. And you're right - Ford has something to fit nearly every budget.

Yeah. We'd have the Ford Model "Some letter Mk. Some Roman numeral". I don't think Lincoln or Mercury would be any better than they are now.
I'd go so far to say that Lincoln today is kinda what I imagine it would be like with Ford in control. Slightly changed, rebadged Fords.

I wonder the same about the other automotive namesakes.

Good god it was bad. And he was just a product of his time I think. Anti-Semitism was just a common belief in the Midwest at the time.

I know Chevrolet would be pleased with his company's motorsports presence. Such as being the winning manufacturer in the Indy 500.

His views were an unfortunate product of his time and he simply wasn't strong enough to think clearly. And I have always wondered is the 97 SHO fun to drive?

At the end of the day he was also a businessman I think he would have adapted to the times as needed. He wouldn't be so stubborn to see his company fail. I do think however that we would see cheaper options and the Ford GT and Mustang would not have happened.

The '97 SHO was a great long-distance driver - good power, nice shift ratios, well appointed. I have had a Honda CRX Si, a '87 Mercedes 300D, and a Camry wagon. Among others. Even among those, the SHO was the most reliable of them all - near 100K miles, without a hitch. The only thing that broke was the 6CD changer in the trunk (4 of them) but that was JBL's fault, not Ford's.

It was a popular notion, but that doesn't really excuse him from being an asshole (which he was).

I agree he was. But I can't exactly say I hate him for it.

I'm late to join the party but who cares. I know that Ettore and Ferrucio would be displeased with the current products of their companies. Ferrucio would be mad that Ferrari makes better Gran Turismos than his, and Ettore would be enraged that his company makes the kind of cars he has been critizising W.O. for. Also, "Wtf is this Independent front suspension bullshit?"

I am still a little sad Lamborghini won't make a proper GT car again. Those are always classic and stunning to look at.
