So, Time has come to think about a replacement for my aging Galaxy S3.
I found this phone in a snowbank at a bus stop. after charging and waiting 2 weeks for the owner to call back, (phone was locked with no information on screen, would have returned it).
Poor phone is cracked, beaten, scratched, the back looks like the hood of a early 2000's sunfire that some jealous ex dumped acetone on.
I am in canada, and I usually have a unlocked phone.
I originally planned to get a oneplus one, but the person who said they would give me an invite gave it to someone else. Oh well.
The short list so far is:
Xperia Z3
LG G3
(maybe) nexus 5
nexus 6
I want something with a decent battery life, more then 32GB storage, and a decently quick processor.
and NO, no iPhones. I'm not an apple guy. plus, buying an iPhone off contract is still ridiculously expensive.
EDIT: also, no blackberrys. cant stand the phones, and no one around has a BB here anyways.
thoughts?

800CC V-4 WITH V-TEC, 6 speed tran, ABS, and a great noise. I'd love to find a cheap one and daily it...

I cant do BB's OS. Simply not enough compatibility for what I need. I'm sticking to droid :P

I know, I was just kidding :)
I carry two phones so I would consider this for my work line. But I wouldn't consider it as my one and only phone if I only had one line.

HTC one M8, been using one for the last 6 months, its awesome. Battery lasts the full day, with some pretty heavy use, Calls, Netflix during lunch and Pandora streaming most of the rest of the time. and picked it up used for about $150 less than sticker. and it is absolutely gorgeous in gun metal grey.

I did try one. Didnt like it. It felt...Almost slow, so much camera software for such a mediocre camera.
And its got a smaller battery then the ones I'm looking at (2600mAh VS 3000+)
other then that, its not a bad phone.

I have the LG G3, and it's a really good phone, overall. Very fast with a great camera, and a qHD display. It also has a 5.5" screen, so it's definitely large.

Yeah the camera is pretty bad, but I barely use it anyway. If you are willing to mess around with the rom, there are some good ones out there, that definitely speed things up, I use Viperone

The Note 4 honestly isn't much different than a G3, and both are 1440p screens.

Despite the lovely name, it is also the thinnest phone on the market.

I run a HTC One Max. It's practically a tablet. It has a killer battery, 3300mAh. Iuse it from 6am to 11pm without charging, mostly streaming music over Bluetooth, but doing everything you would expect a smartphone to be used for. It doesn't do any of the stupid glitchy things my previous Motorbota phones, or my wife's Samsucks, have done. Battery lasts forever. Don't care about the camera. I know it's old now, but it was IMO the best phone on the market when I bought it. And come on, sexy naked aluminum. Biggest complaint is that the Swype keyboard isn't nearly as intuitive as the one on my old Moto Bionic was. I know HTC isn't on your list, but I had to throw in my oppinion, I love this thing.

That's true. My wife has one and loves it but it's constantly giving her issues with Wi-Ficonnection. It will be connected and working, then suddenly it will just stop loading anything. It will have to be turned off and sometimes won't come back for hours. Happens with multiple different networks. Because I stream music constantly I would go over on data in no time if I had to constantly turn Wi-Fi off. No one seems to be able to fix it for her either. Other than thatI don't knowanything else about them. Oh and they don't like being slammed in car doors, happened to a co-worker when it fell out of his pocket getting in, no insurance.

ohh, that hurrts....
I admit, I was originally looking for something water resistant and with a big battery, as I tend to listen to music as I ride. and with the phone in the pocket, i dont want it to die on me if I happen to get caught in the rain. so thats what pushges S5 and Z3 up the list for me...

S5 with an otterbox? To be fair, the S5 is far less slippery than my HTC. It fell out of his pants pocket because our work pants are poorly designed and allow things to basically defy gravity and escape at all too frequent intervals. And I think it was an SL, so a bit lower than your average car.

S5s are water resistant as is. that was part of the atrraction....hmm. might just roll with a Z3.

I just figured the otter box would be a good bet because it adds more water resistance (does water resistant + water resistant = water proof? Don't think so, but it couldn't hurt) And lots of grippy so it can't slip out of your pocket while scraping pegs.
I thinkI played with a Z3 a bit at one point, but didn't really like the OS. Then again, I could be thinking of something else completely different. Either way I'm sure you will be pretty happy. It's hard to find a device these days that is just plain bad.
Ready for an adventure!

Don't get an LG G3 - I had a Samsing Galaxy S4 and it broke. Got the LG and am disappointed. 2 years to go dissappointed. just my 2 cents. I miss my S4...

Nexus 5 or One M8 Google Play Edition. The GP Edition is a lot better, no bloatware or any of that bullsh*t. I own a Nexus 5 and recommend it to everyone.
