I don't understand why, with it being offered on other vehicles in the lineup. I've heard that they may be retiring the vehicle, which would really suck, and wouldn't really make sense with the recent refreshes on it, and the extremely spacious glovebox. I mean, it's basically a stretched GC, which does get the diesel engine, so it would make perfect sense.
Do it, Dodge! Keep the 'rango and put a diesel in it!

Read "GC" as Grand Caravan and was disappointed when I went to build a diesel minivan.

So much about Doge is up in the air. They need to keep the Durango though. Since the refresh I've seen tons of these things on the street. Not just stripper fleet models either.
My sis in law bought a V6 Citadel; she loves the thing. Traded up from a G6.
Also speculation but I imagine people that are buying the 'Rango aren't particularly interested in things like torque. As long as it's smooth, quiet, transports the spawn's baseball team and god damnit Helen I'm not going to be seen in a minivan then they'll keep flying off the shelves

They really are beautiful looking vehicles, especially with the most current refresh. I love the racetrack LED taillamps. And I see a lot of them around as well. I'm biased, I own a Durango (though it's a first-gen), and I love it. I didn't care for the second-gen models much at all, but they really nailed the design on these. It looks menacing and the Durango has always been a brutish looking vehicle, and it still is, just more refined now.
And your point makes sense on the torque, but if the market is there for the Grand Cherokee and the Ram, then there should at least be some discussion of it for the Durango. I know Dodge is positioning themselves to be the performance segment of FCA, but in that case, the Durango can just be absorbed into RAM.

Second gen? I thought we were in the second gen! ;)
(those things were utter rubbish. Inside, outside, all around, rubbish )
The Ram makes sense - First in segment half-ton diesel. Who cares if it does roughly the same thing as the V6 - it has TORQUES and first in segment muhfuggas! Nearly the same goes for the GC - damn good economy with enough grunt to tow a thing or maybe get out of the parking lot from time to time you goddamned suburbanite prick. The Durango has gone much softer than its roots (which is the best roots because body on frame V8 midsize SUV fuck yeah) and is more cruiser than ever. I mean it has an active lowering system. Try hillhopping in that

Try it on a European site . Not only can you get a diesel in your GC, it costs the same (in Germany) as the gasoline version. Furthermore, you'll get Lancia badges in stead of Dodge badges for free!
