Instead of crying about advancements in automobile technology adding more complication, how about trying to educate yourself on how these new systems work?

I'm sorry that you find new things so frightening and I'm sorry that sometimes new technology has teething issues, but it's the way things work. The rest of humanity wants newer and better things.

I swear, I once saw a goon rant about electric windows. About how great it was that he could roll his window down without a key. And when I said that opening any window in a car from the driver's seat trumps that he gave some spiel about how he simply lowered his windows to his desired height before setting off as if I was just being lazy/crazy.

Car nerds. I fucking swear.

P.S.

CVTs are cool .

CVTs will only be cool when they can take massive amounts of torque and not destroy themselves.

CVTs are evil as are Land Rover 9 speed auto, unbearable gear changes and random clunks.

Agreed on everything you said. However, while I appreciate the technology and benefits of cvts. Well, I just dont like the way they feel. Its like a sneeze that just wont come out.

Issues with CVTs are being ironed out. The new CVT I tried in my loaner Forester was fine. As fine as an automatic can be. It does its job of keeping the AWD CUV from being a gas guzzler.
