160k miles isn't all that much for a '94 Camry, but is any of that damage repairable I wonder? Obviously, the front fender can be replaced...

Probably because in this area, $650 will get you a Kia Sephia with a blown head gasket and just about nothing else.

I must be spoilt by our used car prices here. Clean reliable lowish miles car for £500 all over. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/adv…

Could you fix it? Yes. For thousands of dollars.

Yeah, if you want a running car that won't detonate or burn three liters of oil on the way home, you have to budget at LEAST $1000 in Pensacola. Or get this Camry, which clearly has frame damage.

Our strict yearly inspection here would make that Camry worth only whatever the steel it's made from is worth. If you were caught driving it, it'd probably be towed pretty quickly.

I call BS on the left headlight and taillight working. My old neighbors daughter found one of these in the area for 500 without the body damage.

Yeah, not sure on the headlight, but note he said brake light - not taillight - the signal is completely gone, but it looks like there is some brake light left. I have been browsing around the $500 mark and I ever see are blown head gaskets, "needs new trans", and "burns a LOT of oil" which is to be expected I suppose.

Ha! There are no inspections of any kind in Florida. You see some real atrocities here. However, I lived in England for 10 years (Leeds) and M.O.Ts can only do so much to keep unsafe cars off the road.

The MOT system is certainly far from perfect and some dodgy stuff still manages to stay on the road, but cars with really obvious accident damage tend to get picked on as an easy pull for police.

500 stuff pops up around Milton relatively often. Plus, a lot of 1000 cars can be had for 500 with some negotiating.

The bulb probably works but will be blown out by first flying object.

If it runs and drives, it's worth AT LEAST $500. Fuel efficient? Even more. Most cars older than 20 years got crushed or trashed or parted out for scrap in the last decade.

Fuel efficient and low tax/insurance cars carry a premium here, but if you settle for 30 ish mpg and £200 a year tax you can get a pretty reasonable car for £500.
