...and wonder, "Wait, why did I like this?"
I remember thinking this was cool. Looking at it now, I can't for the life of me figure out why. I guess the little park assist wheels thing is kinda neat, but...if the car's already small, why would you need them exactly?
And that interior... man, those seats do not look comfortable.

Yup, In elementary school I was obsessed with the Pontiac Piranha concept. I had it on my english folder, had the Hot wheels car, the whole bit. I kept a close eye on Auto news to see when it was going into production. Pretty sure the Vibe's styling evolved from this concept. I look back and I absolutely hate it. The proportions are weird, the colors are all wrong and the interior looks incredibly cheap. What was I thinking?

That's funny, I don't remember that concept at all. Definitely looks like some Toyota switchgear in there, and the front end does kind of look Vibe-ish.

Mostly project cars.
I look at them originally thinking about all the potential. Then I look back on them and think that I have questionable sanity.

It was cool for the day, but design-wise its as convoluted as the aztek.

Sheepishly, i always wanted a z-24 When I was in middle school. Thankfully I grew into a truck/GNX person later. I still wonder what I was thinking.

This is not quite the same thing, but I wondered why I wanted to buy one: the Subaru SVX. It was overly complicated, too expensive (to buy and maintain), impractical (gun slit windows?). But I loved driving it - good traction, decent acceleration, and comfy seats. I ultimately bought a '97 SHO that turned out to be dead reliable.
I've told this story here before - dealer had about 10 '96 SVXs, all stickered around 35K - this was in October 1997, just after I'd gotten out of law school. I made the dealer an offer they shouldn't have refused ($27,500+ taxes and tags). So SHO it was. Fantastic price because it had cloth - everyone that wanted one wanted leather. A vegetarian at the time, I was glad to get cloth.

Well, I drove a regular Chevy Celebrity in high school and I actually coveted the Chevy Celebrity Eurosport VR.
LOOK AT ITS MAGNIFICENCE!
No, seriously, look at this picture and help me find its magnificence. I could have sworn it had some, it must be in there somewhere.

Oh shit, I had a folder with this on it, haha. I was obsessed with Piranhas when I was a kid, so I think the name might have been its only redeeming feature.

Pontiac Grand Ams and Grand Prix from the 90's and 00's. Which each new body style, I thought they looked good. But then even a few years later, I'd wonder what the hell I was thinking.

I grew up with GM stuff and coveted most of their cars from the 90's. I'm rather ashamed to admit that.

I'm with ya. Has to be the red stripe. I dated a girl whose dad had the Lumina variant and it was "so fast" when I rode in the back seat. Thought it was the fastest on earth Til my first ride in an '87 GN. Just think how fast it would have been with a red stripe.

Fact: GM wouldn't allow Buick to put the red stripe on the GN, because it was already too fast.
BmanUltima's car still hasn't been fixed yet, he'll get on it tomorrow, honest.

The Pontiac stinger is one I looked back at and thought, crap! that was car 15 years ahead of it's time.
It had a garden hose! Hose! Talk about rugged lifestyle.
