That feeling when after taking over 200 pictures and none are good.

I can't wait till I can get a faster lens, only being able to shoot at f/3.5 doesn't work for street photography.

f/3.5 isn't that far from f/2.8. Unless you're looking for f/1.4. But I, too, have experienced the regret. I shot out at Dyess AFB yesterday, fantastic conditions. But I didn't trust my light and shot at 400 when 100 would have done. All the shots are noisy and grainy.

I'm buying a voigtlander 1.4 35mm for my sony a7 rig that I've been saving up for. Also the noise performance on my Canon 450D is mediocre to put it nicely, anything past 200 iso looks like you're seeing the picute on an 80's tv. So bumping up the iso really isn't an option either.

The depth of field at f/1.4 is really really narrow - especially for taking pictures of an entire car.

The noise thing probably doesn't help. That was going to be my next suggestion - up the ISO. A grainy picture is probably going to be better than a blurry picture.

Are you shooting moving cars, or posed cars?

Brought out the man and the little kid a little bit, brought down the glare from the tents, fixed some of the camera shake, cropped it in a little to remove some of the peripheral distractions, and warmed it up just slightly because I prefer warm B&W versus cool B&W. I noticed you shot at 1/60th of a second. That was just a smidge too slow... that's why the photo was a little unfocused. From camera shake from your hands. Try shooting at 1/90th next time, or faster. Especially on a sunny day like that. I don't know what your aperture was since you were in aperture priority and it doesn't say, but based on the DOF, I'm thinking somewhere around f /8, at least, especially with such a slow shutter speed. Anyway, what do you think?

I think it looks good! Also I was shooting at f/8 because I was out shooting in the sunlight.
