Toyota USA is celebrating 20 years of Avalon with this:
The Avalon Touring Sports Special.
But the Europeans get a car with the same trim name, but totally different.

All this proves is that the word "sports" means absolutely nothing.

So, Toyota is doing their own Oldsmobile Touring Sedan? Appropriate, given the Avalon's clientele.

Ah yes you could get the 1.2 in sport trim. A blistering 0-60 time of 13 seconds.

Gag! could they make it any uglier?
Had an interesting conversation with 2 friends recently. I asked them "When you walk out to get in your car, does its looks make you feel better about owning it? The 200? Corolla guy said: No, I don't care what it looks like I just want a dependable car. All I do is drive it to where I have to go. The 2014 Focus guy said: I want a car that appeals to me looks wise, and stands out a bit. I said to the Corolla guy: All cars are dependable now. Does that make you wish you had a better looking car or was better styled. His reply: No, they all look about the same to me.
Shows the difference between car people and non-car people. Toyota ain't stupid. They appeal to the Corolla mentality and it works for the most part.
