I have plans to suck at darts and drink a large amount of whiskey tomorrow, but don't know what to get. Anyone have any good reccomendations?

I can't spend too much but don't want to drink cheap rubbish. To give you an idea of my budget I usually buy Johnnie Walker Red.

For mass drinkage, I do Makers or Knob Rye.

Jameson? That's my go-to for whiskey and it's usually available everywhere. Personally, I know more about tequila than scotch and whiskey though.

Jamesons is actually considerably more expensive than walker red here, although it is very nice. I tend to drink Rum more than whiskey, hence me not knowing a huge amount about it.

I prefer bourbon, but you might not have access to the good shit

I tend to go for scotch or irish whiskey usually. Although the only bourbon I've tried was Jim Beam, which I didn't like that much.

A little expensive for me here, about twice what the Walker Red costs. I'm a student so I can't spend a whole lot.

Nothing wrong with JWR. Not bad for the price.

If you normally drink Red Label maybe treat yourself to a good single malt, say Macallan 12.

Weird, I just checked the price at the liquor store I frequent (Binny's) and Jameson was cheaper.

Jameson $22.99

Johnnie Walker Red $23.99

Crown Royal was surprisingly cheap ($17.99) which is funny because my dad used to yell at me for mixing Crown but we mix Jameson.

Ya I knew that wasn't a very good bourbon, haven't had chance to try anything good. Mostly scotch and irish whiskeys in the UK, for obvious reasons.

A bit beyond my price range unfortunately. I can get 70cl of walker red for £15 here, the macallan is about £60.

Yeah it's a nice whiskey, especially since I can get 70cl for £15. Just fancied a change really.

If you ever see Buffalo Trace, Bulleit, or Corsair, buy a bottle.

I don't think I can get that in the UK. I can have a look at the whiskey store I sometimes go to tomorrow though. That store is difficult to go through though, they offer free samples, but it's also a fair distance from my place so I have to drive. So hard to avoid the samples...

Jamesons is usually about £8-£10 more than red, although I just checked now and it's on offer for only about £4 more.

That is indeed a bit steep. I bought a bottle of the 18 for less than that.

Will do, I'm probably going to drive down to the whiskey store tomorrow and have a look around. Might be able to get a sample of one.

I don't drink enough whiskey to offer much opinion on brands.

Prices can get pretty bad for any drink that isn't mainstream popular or produced somewhere nearby.

Now we're talking! I've been enjoying Teeling lately which might be a tad expensive, but I expect cheaper over there.

I think tullamore dew is pretty good too and a tad cheaper than your normal Jameson.

Tullamore dew seems very reasonably priced actually, might give that one a try. Teeling is a little more than I have to spend.
