For my motorcycle addition, I ned something that I can haul/tow with.

I had an epiphany today....

buy a malaise era el camaino
SS front clip
LS/SBC
6-speed
CPP suspension parts w/ bags in the back
willwood brakes....

thoughts? I like the low bed for loading and un-loading motorcycles. And LS/SBC means parts are cheap and plentiful, as well as easy to work on and maintain...

In all honestly, I'd just get something cheap and cheerful to haul bikes. You'd want something good for long distances, Amiright?

You can do better than CPP.

Go for an SBC/700R4 to start and see where that gets you.

my dad towed his bass boat for years with our 85 Monte SS.

Also, I know ill take flak for this, its a tow vehicle, get an LS/4l60E combo out of a truck and do it that way. the Elco isn't going going around corners and the auto will be faster on the strip anyhow.

By "SS front clip" are you referring to the ChooChoo customs Elky SS?

Kinja'd!!!

Last I looked those bumpers were still being sold, and for $400 or so it'll snap right onto a bog-standard El Camino.

Boring answer:

No. Get a small enclosed trailer. A 5 x 8 size with a ramp on the back should run about $2k new, less if used of course. Add a Pit Bull TRS. Tow it behind the small SUV of your choice.

This way your bike stays out of the weather, and away from theives. A small SUV will be cheaper to run and probably more reliable as well.

I dont have WHERE to store a trailer though. The pick up would be more for hauling a bike to the track and back.
that and I hate driving SUV's and pick ups.

I can find zero flaws in this plan.

I've been thinking about this issue myself, and while I like the camino idea, I think I would prefer to go with more of an old shop truck C10 or similar that has been lowered a good amount. I think the bike will look better there than it would in an El Camino.
