I believe that 2 wheels (motorcycles) are better than 4 (cars). So please carry on and please don't kill me.

My motorcycle is useful for flirting with my fear in order to get more comfortable with it. I push the bike, but I wring the car's neck. I'd need a track and some gear to wring-out the VFR because I'm not a complete idiot.

When I was in my 20s and commuting over the San Francisco bay bridge every day I was in total agreement. I rode a bike exclusively for years. It cut a good hour off my evening commute and a half hour off my morning. It saves gas, parking in a major urban area is way easier, and does a lot less damage to roadways than vehicles that weigh in at well over a ton. On the other hand in the winter it would take me 15 minutes to suit up in riding gear, heated vest, and rain suit before going anywhere. IT was like preparing for a space walk. Then there's the safety factors. I practiced evasive maneuvers every day so I could make them without thinking. That probably made me a better driver (rider?)

Now I drive everywhere and I appreciate the relative safety, comfort, and convenience of not having to suit to go everywhere. they both have their place, I'll argue that isn't better than the other. they both have a place in modern transportation.

Problem with diesel bikes is that they are either over torqued or under powered for their size, and the efficiency between gas and diesel is not sufficient enough to justify the cost. Although I would love a little diesel bike myself.

My concept is you have to grow up with either to be "good" when your older. Motocross guys learn the third dimension "whoopsa" and can race a car anyday. Car guys cant get on a bike and back it into a corner. I Love and have owned many bikes, but have never even mastered the wheelie even. Im faster around a roadcourse in my car than my bikes. That said, a openwheel car is usually faster than any (even gp level) bike.

Back when I was way crazier than I am now I rode my bike through 2 Denver winters. I would wrap nylon straps around my tires to get traction on snow and ice. I'm really surprised I survived those years. I wouldn't recommend that to anyone.
