Back when he had hair, and a more "twangy" higher-pitched voice.
And here's a blue Chevrolet, may be similar to the one referenced in the song.

Ahh country music, where have you gone?

There's still some good country if you look hard enough. I saw Keith Urban in concert last year in Pittsburgh, and let me tell you, that is a heck of a good performance to see live. $100 got us two tickets (Dustin Lynch, Little Big Town, and Keith) and VIP parking, and another $75 for food and gas (which isn't bad considering it was a 150-mile trip just one way). If you ever want a good country music show, and one that's actually entertaining, go see Keith Urban.

It's not about the show, it's about the story. That's what is wrong with country music.

Check out Sturgill Simpson, Jamey Johnson, or even Dierks Bentley. The stuff that Dierks Bentley puts out that doesn't hit the radio is insanely good.

Keith has to go all out compared to when I saw Garth last month in Chicago. That was a hell of a show.

That's a good point. There really isn't much storytelling in country music, not like there used to be at least. I mean, yeah, I will jam to a song about a jacked up truck and drinking beer if it's got a good rhythm, but that's just the little bit of redneck in me. There's not many new country artists that can tell a story, and the ones that can, don't always get much attention. King George almost always delivers on the storytelling aspect, some occasions better than others, as can Garth Brooks, George Jones, and Johnny Cash, some of the greatest. The new guys (and girls) have lost that quality, though there is one I'm kind of partial to, good ol' firecracker Miranda Lambert.
I like this song a lot.

Dierks Bentley is actually a really good artist, when it comes to stuff that doesn't reach the radio. Which that goes for a lot of artists.

I've never seen Garth in concert. I watched the Blame It On My Roots special, which was pretty cool, but yes, Keith does go all out. He invited a bride-to-be having a bachelorette party on stage to sing with him, joked with her, gave another fan a guitar, and this fan was pretty close to us, on lawn seating. He was just so energetic and so funny at the same time, and he always let his bandmates have a little bit of spotlight as well. It was absolutely electric. Just look up any of his live shows on YouTube, and you will be impressed.

I do like me some Dierks. His songs always have a very distinctive guitar section, you can always recognize his songs, even before he starts singing.

I actually forgot to mention Jamey Johnson myself. He has such a rough voice, but it's absolutely perfect for the songs he sings.

Other thing. This is why I love satellite radio. I can hear a lot of this on there.

Just as I'd suggest getting Garth tickets if he comes your way. He's finally on tour, but I don't know all the cities he's going to.

He's not doing anything within 500 miles of me, but maybe for one of his future tours I can swing a ticket purchase. Would be pretty badass.

Hope he does tour more. seeing as his kids are grown up (one reason why he stopped if I remember correctly)
