Kinja'd!!!

So I was talking to my dad last night and he brought up a really good point. Given that I only drive my car on the weekends (company vehicle during the week) theres not sense in me picking up a $400 car payment for something I'll barely ever be using. So it's going to go one of two ways... the first is the nFamous Stringbean will be fixed. New injector goes in this week which will fix my misfire and a buddy of mine has a shop to help me swap the water pump and timing chains when its needed.

So I'll still want something new and fun. That means either I go with an older fun car that I can strip out completely full on trackday bro.... OR I buy a bike #2wheelsbad GSX-R or something.

You should check with your insurance company - sometimes you can get a discount for something that is driven only on weekends or very few miles each year.

It's already on recreational vehicle status. I think this past year I've put less than 2k miles on it.

I support the track bike idea it has the best value-speed-fun factor. The most expensive part is going to be the leathers and other gear you need for riding on a track.

I'll be doing local riding too but yes, a wise investment in leathers and helmet will be necessary. Given the frosty weather coming I figure now may be the best time to buy.

most tracks won't even let you ride without full height boots, full leathers and a helmet that is no more than 5 years old.

now is definitely a good time to buy a bike for cheap and fix it up over the winter
