Built a strut brace. Sorta. It rattles against the alternator and the hood doesn't close quite right, but hey, racecar.
The pipe I used is massive overkill so I could easily cut a notch out for the alternator, then maybe install spacers for the hood (aka washers) if I really need to. Panel gap intensifies.
I really wish that damn brake fluid resivoir wasn't in the way; that would be the perfect location for the brace to go.

It's a good start to the setup though, you could easily work out the angles from there for something that will clear easily.

Not bad. On my Riv I was able to order a bar for the caddy STS - happened to be the same size. stiffening up the rear makes a bigger difference in these. Any interest in a rear addco sway bar? I don't know if mine will fit but we can compare and see

I might move this bar to the rear... it's gonna be a PITA to get it to fit in the front.

Honestly I don't think I can. Any higher and the hood will DEFINITELY not close. Any further towards the firewall and the brake resivoir is in the way. Any further front and it hits the hood. I might adapt it to go on the rear struts.

With only one bolt on each strut tower and the angles it's at, that bar is doing nothing. You need the bar mounted to at least two points on the strut tower. Otherwise it's all poser no action.
Get a factory strut tower bar and modify it to fit. They were on Park Avenues up to '96 and the smaller H-bodies even later. This is a '98 Regency.

Angle it backwards a little, and lower to clear the alternator and hood.
It can be done!

I ended up putting spacers to raise it up so it didn't hit the alternator, then spacers on the hood as well.

I need strut bars for the wagon. Probably wouldnt hurt the SL if I could get one...
