NOW IT'S MEDICAL TEST TIME which I will pass flawlessly! :D
Oh...and that pic. A little preview of what I might trade-in the NC with.

Is that a CRZ dash?
That car is awful. Don't do that.

Dude....stop
It looks cool. And that's it. I've heard it's just awful to drive. Seriously a bad car. You know it only has 2 seats right?

Indeed! Seriously...I never saw the light out of the tunnel of doom that my current work put me through. I'm finally happy and feel...light.

Too true! Not that job searches are fun, but I was actually happy when I got laid off. It's no fun working at a company that's circling the drain, no matter how good the money is. For bad jobs, it's hard to see a way out when you're in it and it's amazing how bad it really is in the clarity of hindsight.

I'm happy I wasn't laid off since I had stuff to pay...but seriously it was so bad that I felt I was turning insane and for the first time I had mood swings after what...24 yrs of my life? I'm 26!

Actually I've driven it. My friend has one with an (ugh) CVT. It's actually not that bad, chassis was good, it's surprisingly edgy at corners and fun. I can see it do better with a bit more power.
Oh and did I mention it had a CVT?

I wouldn't normally recommend the layoff route, but the first round in October of last year got nice severance, so I knew what was up. If it works out, not only do you get off of a sinking ship, you get paid to get on the rescue boat. I fear for my colleagues, though. I don't think the next round will have such packages, probably just a "closed" sign on the doors. At any age, work shouldn't be causing you mood swings and other distress, it's just not worth it.

How low are you able to go? My 1.8L NB Miata got ~35 MPG, even with spirited driving.
Trust me, I've been in a CRZ and it is really not that good. Plus, modern Hondas are more complicated than a Porsche 928 electrical system.
(This is one of two blocks)
But now that I've shit all over the car you want, congratulations! I wish you the best of luck, and you're fortunate that government jobs are usually very easy.

I make 400km MAX out of my NC. It's too noisy, too demanding during driving...I need something smoother. I still have my NA so I'm not out of the game lol.
What car do you suggest under 15k? I found a fully equiped CRZ for 13K.

Get a Mazda 2 Sport. You're already in Mazda's clutches anyway. It's seriously a great little car, gets good gas mileage, and is significantly more fun. Also, as someone who's owned 3 Hondas (96 and 10 Civic, 11 Fit/Jazz), Honda overrates their fuel mileage by at least 10-20 percent. I rented a Mazda 2 from Hertz the other week because the Fit was having some work done, and I was legit sad to return it.

I tried a Mazda 2 too! I comfirm, the Mazda 2 is a FWD NA Miata. It's seriously awesome! But the interior is cheap....and I don't like things that looks cheap. The CRZ has this problem because of the grey trim but the material quality is great!

Hmm. Funny you think it's cheap. I DD a Fit, and I thought the interior was at least as well finished, if not better. Plus I was very impressed with the seats.

It's the light grey that does it for me.
