I built my own engine!

I used Automation to build an engine that is virtually the same as the real one!

Lexus LS400 1UZ-FE engine specs:

256 hp @ 5800 RPM

260 ft lbs @ 4400 RPM and 200+ ft lbs @ 1000 RPM

Aluminum block with forged conrods, forged crank, and hypereutectic cast pistons. 90 degree V8, 3969 cc, 87.5 mm X 82.5 mm B/S ratio

DOHC 10.0:1 compression ratio, Multiport injection with a single intake, tuned to 91 pump gas with an extremely advanced ignition timing. Even the exhaust header, diameter, cat, and mufflers are the same!

I ended up having to do with a little more torque than the real engine, but this was as close as I could get within the game.

If anyone has built their engine in Automation or has a neat build, let's see it!!

I did a somewhat realistic version of the Eagle 5.7 Hemi (it got shitty economy, because no MDS), but it did make roughly the same power and torque figure.

It also did not have dual spark plug, or variable runner lengths, or hemispherical heads...

... In retrospective, it was not that similar.

I'll see if I can find it when I get home.

I made my EFI 5.0/302 on this. I need to get a new laptop so I can play again. (dirty console peasant once my laptop crashed early this year)

I know NOTHING about what this is but it's freaking cool!

Yeah I really hope the developers add in more detail. But I see a lot of people on the forums begging for more detail being shut down by the devs. Seriously, we need to be able to determine the stroke to conrod ratio, superchargers, rotaries, and the other stuff you listed.

The compression was off, because you can't do 22:1, but I built an International 7.3 IDI.

It would be pretty much impossible for such a small outfit of developers to implement so many things though...

until the game gets completely released (and IF it becomes a success), I doubt they will install really advanced features like that.

maybe the modding community will help with it.

(I think superchargers and diesels are planned for the final version, not sure about rotary...)

This is a fun game. I've re created so many engines. I need to start playing it again.

Yeah having rotaries would be a pipe dream heh. But the game already has a lot of detail in the engine department, a little more could be shoved in. Of course, the devs need to think about the UI and how crammed it will get, but I'm sure theres room for at least driveshafts, differentials, and interior customization. I could see the game adding more detailed use of the engine bay, such as exact engine placement, battery placement and so on. As it is, we don't have much control over the F/R weight distribution.

Try the demo for free. I demo'd it for 3 days and just had to buy it.

That game is pretty brilliant. I should buy the full version at some point.

I wish my Cosworth DFV replica would have worked as well as it actually did in real life.
