congrats! Specs? Having it by January is pretty quick IMO.. Some of my friends waited twice as long for their M3's and A3 sedans.

Nice! My New Car List at one point included Mk7 GTI, Mk7 R, and 3 Series Sports Wagon. I've essentially dismissed a new (beautiful Estoril Blue) 3 Series for just being silly expensive, which now leaves GTI, R, or used. I'm looking forward to your write-up.

Really? I thought the GTIs were made in Germany. I know the Jetta and GLI are Mexican-made.

The MK7 Golf/GTI is now made in Mexico to keep costs down. If they didn't it would be really hard for VW to sell it in the US for at the price they do. If you see what GTIs sell for in Europe/UK it is bonkers expensive.

Actually i havent sent them any customers but i have been in contact with their managment and they have been wanting to establish a business relationship. So they used this opportunity to give me a great deal so thay i give them future opportunities.

I want a new GTI myself. Do you think the SE is worth the additional $3K? I don't really care about leather seats, I mainly want the sunroof and rearview camera.

I think you are getting a decent value for the SE considering all the equipment.

I ordered an S because I wanted the cloth and didn't want the leather sunroof and camera. Funny story about the camera, the GTI I test drove had it, when I got back to the dealer usually they tell you just to "leave it out front" and they park the car. I asked if he wanted me to back it into the spot, he said sure. I lined the thing up and pulled it right in easy peasy. He was like "wow you didn't even use the camera!" I said "Not for nothing but you shouldn't need a backup cam to park a Golf."

I used to think the cameras were a waste of money until I worked for a car dealership. Backing up those cars in really tight spaces came in really handy. I instantly fell in love with them.
