It's not car related, but after 7 years of daily use my dear MX Revolution decided to die. I'm gonna miss it, it was by far the best mouse I've ever laid my hand on. I loved its multi-mode scroll wheel which was toggled by the speed on the scroll.

Got myself a Performance MX, from Logitech once again, to replace it, hopefuly it's going to be as good on the long run.

I have a Logitech G5 that i use at work that I've had for years. Love it. its like holding onto a potato.

Then at home I have the Ur-G15 Keyboard and a G502 Proteus Core mouse.

I've used a friends G5, quite a nice mouse too, but I wanted a wireless mouse that can be charged. Only a few options left after that.

I'm currently using a MX5500 keyboard (the one that came with the MX Revolution), but I'd love to get something a bit quieter and better (it's not the nicest keybaord, far from it).

Got a Logitech M600 recently, touch mouse. I absolutely LOVE the ability to quickly flick up or down an entire page, better than any wheel-driven scroll I've ever used. It has a few other 'touch-specific' features but I don't use them. I've had it for about 7 months and use it all day every day at work, I don't think I could go back to a regular scroll wheel.

I hate wireless stuff for my desktops.

NOT as good... got through 2 MX Revolution and had to switch to a performance MX... Button placement is terrible, no more middle button under the scrolling and the side button are just terribly positionned... I use lots of shortcuts through my mouse, and this Performance MX is just a desappointment compared to what the Revolution was...

Got three of these mices, from around 2002. I haven't lived with anything else and they are still daily drivers.

I wish they still made these, I would buy another set if I could.

That side wheel was just awesome, used it to control Spotify, change tabs and page in Firefox. I would have loved to get a new MX Revolution, but it seems almost impossible to find one.

And why do you say there is no more middle button ? Mine has it. Though I agree on the side buttons, I find the previous and next page button to be weirdly placed, they'd be better if they were right under your thumb, like the zoom button.

No the middle button under the scrolling wheel... It's just used to toggle the wheel from restricted to free now... no more functionning button.

And I do use the zoom button as the previous button, the previous button as the next button and the next button as a Ctrl-w shortcut...

A freaking mess...

I use the MX5500 set at the office and I love the MX Revolution, I don't even have the custom buttons set-up as no set point on the work system. I agree best mouse I have ever owned. I am trying to find a new option for home to use both with my work laptop and my Surface Pro 3. I like the Logitech fast switching devices and I want something BT but they are so hard to come by these days.

I see what you mean. It doesn't really bother me since I wasn't really using it on the MX Revolution, maybe from time to time to launch a web search on something I had selected.

What I really liked though on the Revolution was the automatic toggle of the wheel between scroll and free mode. Not a fan of the mechanical button (at least on the Performance, the wheel is pretty good compared to my M705 which uses the same system, worst wheel ever)

Had one of these too. Brilliant mice, but I never liked that it was wireless. Looooved the scrol wheel, though. Probably the best mouse I've had. A tiny inch above my old MX518 it replaced. Currently using a Razer Deathadder which seems to be a very sturdy workhorse indeed.

It was a sad day for me when my MX Revolution died as well. Since I'm a heavy CAD user, I needed something comparable and I picked up the Performance MX thinking there was no way it would be as good. There are pros/cons to it, but overall I love it. I've had this mouse for 3 years and it's treated me well. The worst part about losing my MXR was the thumb wheel, but it's somewhat replaced by the thumb button which you'll get to know and love

I have a G5 at home! That thing is great! My sliders are worn out though :-(

That looks a very nice unit. My Trust wireless mouse is on it's way out. There are loads of cheap basic function mouse' out there but I like the eight and ten button units for ease but some of the prices look like they have been plucked out of thin air.

I've looked at the Logitech Performance MX on eBay and they are about £30 upwards to £80 (USD$48 -$128), I'd be interested to hear how you get on with it.

Yeah for me its desappearance is awful... it was my Ctrl-w shortcut... So damn practical... I wanted to buy one again on ebay, but they go for over 200$ for new ones now... Maybe I can find a "logicool" one here in Japan, I don't know... I hope though...

I have an MX Revolution desktop at home and an MX Performance at work and I intend to keep that Revolution running for a while (battery capacity has dropped significantly). Apparently some people have replaced the battery so I intend to do that to keep it running. Look for it on iFixit!

My MX518 is still running strong after 7 1/2 years of abuse by Cheetos and coffee stains. lol. But I am looking at Corsair's RGB M65 mouse and their K70RGB keyboard to buy this Christmas.

I have a Performance MX at my office, and a G700 at home for gaming... I'm getting closer and closer to reversing that status every day. (I bought my work mouse as they ones they provide at the office are godawful, particularly for the work I do.) The Performance MX mouse is glorious, I just wish it had that second scroll wheel like your old MX Revolution.
