Got some classic Lucas wiring smoke up my nose this evening whilst trying to work out just what the shit is happening with my sidelights. Turns out 24v bulbs (I didn't know, I thought the dimness was an earth fault) in a 12v system with twin sidelight circuits switched on at the same time means burny smoke flamey time. AND it's a 15A fuse in a 5A circuit, goddamn MOD and their nonchalance.

It's Lucas. You don't waste time trying to figure out what went wrong. You replace the entire circuit and every Lucas part you find along the way. Where did you get 24v bulbs? Does not matter. 24v DC in a 12v DC circuit should not cause any burning up. Sounds like a short to me.

I didn't fit them, MOD Landys are 24v. Well shit, I haven't a clue what's going on with that wiring harness, but I've disconnected the aux sidelight circuit because it's bloody useless and just causing trouble when I cock up.
