Heard a CarToys radio ad to day for Car Play. The ad mentioned how great it is that now you can have Facebook and surf the Internet right on your dash. It also mentioned that voice commands can be used to keep both hands on the wheel "for maximum safety." Because when I think maximum safety, I think of Facebooking while driving!

Psh fuck Car play. Yanno what works just fine? Cortana through bluetooth in my S40. No screen to distract, no taps or removing eyes from the road, just "Hey Cortana, take me to the nearest Burger King"

I'm more upset about the new Mercedes with beautiful wood around the climate control and then a stripped down iPad just stuck there on the dash. Shame.

Just yesterday I saw a guy watching ESPN on a screen that was suction cupped right to the middle of his windshield. He was driving horribly, as you might imagine.

To me and you sure, but have you been out on the roads? It's definitely not obvious to everyone (people already use their smart phones while driving) and the "keep both hands on the wheel" line makes it pretty clear that they're pitching it as an "on the go" feature.
