Just bought this yesterday: 2008 Audi A4 Avant 2.0T Quattro 6MT
Initial impressions:
Car feels faster than I though it would looking at the specs. Car pulls quite nicely, especially in 1st and 2nd.
Ride is very smooth, handles rough streets and potholes with aplomb.
Pedals and shifter are all great, they just feel right. Seating position and steering wheel as well. Did not take any getting used to.
Steering is a bit light, but not too bad.
Wagon!

Hey, that's not a BMW, you can't park there.
(still, nice acquisition)

Yeap Audi always made it a point to have stump pulling torque lower than any of its competitors in those first few gears. The engine/6mt is great fun in hill climbing. aftermarket thoughts?

Definitely want to upgrade the head unit, as it has no aux input or bluetooth. Contemplating an ECU tune, but I haven't done much research on that. I'm not in any rush though as the car is fun as it is.
Maybe suspension, not sure yet as I haven't done any really spirited driving for a long enough period to feel what would need to be addressed. I think the ride height is pretty good, but it could stand to be a bit lower for some visual appeal. But on the other hand I like how smooth the ride is, I'm worried about how lowering would affect the harshness

Thanks! The guy I bought it from was a true Jalop as well, he had this car special ordered. He also previously owned 2 Unimogs and a 300CD

I've been enjoying it a lot in the limited time I've had it. The wife likes it too, so double win!

Thanks, it's nice to have that 6th gear for highway cruising. Though I find myself rarely using 5th, usually I accelerate through 4th then skip straight to 6th, I wonder if that's how most 6MT users drive.

That's exactly my technique. Occasionally I'll throw it in fifth if I have a long even acceleration onto the highway.

I always say look at swaybars and tires and people rarely go for that first because there's no visual difference, best bang for the buck in my experience, though. Also bushings that wouldn't effect the ride qulity. Both are robably the cheapest amongst Audi mods, too.
Shifter bushings... the little things that'd make you enjoy the Audiness of your Audi more. I used to sell them and I'm generally against stuff that might bring you back into the service station later...springs and shocks I'm always for though. Having said that most tech's wont notice or care about an ecu tune and with about a decade's experience with at least APR stuff I'd say its worth it when you have the spare change.

Thanks for the feedback. I had thought about swaybars, but I haven't really noticed much body roll yet. I need to take it to some curvy backroads and see how it really handles.
The tires on it are pretty new, about 5K miles on them, so I don't think I'll replace those for awhile. They're BF Goodrich g-Force Super Sport All Season Tires.

One reminder - 2.0T engines are really finicky about oil. Only use European blend Synthetic oil in it (I have used Amsoil in all my Audis). Inferior oils, or those left in too long, will coke up and cause engine damage. They run REALLY hot oil temps.

Awesome! I used to have a white '08 S-Line sedan though.
A word of advice: The wheels are a bitch to clean.

That is a seriously cool wagon. Congratufreakinlations indeed.
If I had this in red (I think German cars look sublime in red) it would be Perfect.

Yeah, red would be awesome. I would have preferred just about any color besides grey, but these cars are hard enough to find as it is, I wasn't going to pass up a good one just because of the color. Not that I think the grey looks bad, but it would not have been near the top of my list if I could've picked the color.

RS4 rear sway, boost gauge, and an APR or Revo chip should be first on your list. Color me jealous, by the way.
