I, from time to time, browse through the classified ads on various web sites who's purpose is to aid in the sale of motorized vehicles. Sometimes, I find cars I like, and decide to read the included description.
Sometimes those descriptions are well thought out, informative narratives:
This 2011 9-5 is for Saab nuts who are hunting for a superb, low-mileage car. It will take you where you need to go every time...all you have to do is steer!
Other times, I come across a description that looks like the first guy with a GED on craigslist wrote:
'WHAT!' A 1992 MITSUBISHI 3000 GT V4-5 MANUAL OR STANDARD TRANSMISSION TWIN TURBO ALL WHEEL DRIVE READY TO ROCK AND ROLL WITH ONLY 80K AS SEEN ON THE CARFAX! AS WE KNOW PEOPLE ALL OVER THE COUNTRY ARE LOOKING FOR THIS CAR AND YOU COULD BE THE ONE TO OWN THE COLLECTOR CAR. IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHY THIS CAR IS PRICED WHERE IT'S AT THEN THIS IS PROBABLY NOT THE CAR FOR YOU. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THE BADDEST WHIP IN THE COUNTRY THEN THIS IS THE CAR FOR YOU! THIS CAR WAS VERY AHEAD OF IT'S TIME. IF YOU ARE IN THE AREA FEEL FREE TO STOP BY AND LOOK AT THIS VEHICLE; IF YOU AREN'T FEEL FREE TO CALL AND ASK ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE!
So,
ALL CAPS LOCKS: Check
Spelling and grammatical errors: Check
Carfax as an accurate way of reporting mileage: Check
Demoralizing your potential customers as a way to potentially entice them to spend more $: Check
Using gangstah phatty phat wordz like "whip", yo!: Check
All this makes me want absolutely nothing to do with your totally classic collector vehicle super rare whip, yo, that I obviously know nothing about but totally need becasue it's super rare and the baddest-ass-iest one in the entire country.

I always thought Craigslist talked like dealers, actually. I used to see/hear dealer ads just like this way before the CL.
My uncle is a dealer, and as much as I love him, I have to admit he writes like that since I'm aware of myself. His son is following his footsteps quite nicely.
