The Cadillac Eldorado was a gigantic front wheel drive personal luxury coupe that started life in 1967, although the name Eldorado was used on a convertible version of the series 62 platform starting in 1953. Today's featured Eldorado is barn fresh and priced accordingly.
The big front drive under-steering boat won't impress anyone with its RV handling characteristics, but trying to nail apexes with any full sized 'Merican car from the late 60s is like trying to rope and hog-tie wild cats while riding naked on a goat. It sounds like a great idea on paper, but once you get all slathered up in Vaseline, you realize it was a horrible mistake. The Eldorado on the other hand is a Bill Mitchell styled piece of art that won't require delousing when you are done riding it. Find this !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! currently bidding for $6,900 reserve-not-met with a few hours to go, located in Salem, OR via eBay.
This Eldorado is being sold by a small time dealer (flipper) who has numerous estate sale cars listed at any time, but perplexingly uses ALL CAPS in his advertisements and lists limited details. The seller always lists a phone number, so this is one of those cars that you are going to call and find out it has a hidden buy-it-now price. The seller claims this is a 38k mile example picked up from the estate of the original owner, and while it does show some signs of age, it isn't a total wreck and spent no time inside of a barn.
The Eldorado is powered by a 429 cubic inch (7.2 liter) V8 that is rated at 340 horsepower and 480 ft-lbs of torque when new. The only available transmission was a 3-speed automatic, but this was a luxury car designed for the aging buyer who wasn't interested in rowing his own gears.
See a better deal in a low mile original owner classic? !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
