"Jake - Has Bad Luck So You Don't Have To" (murdersofa)

My clutches are slipping, and the gear ratios are all wrong. Slightly shorter gears and I could probably hit 60 in 7 seconds.
It takes 6.5 seconds for my car to get to 50, then it has to change gears and the final 10mph to 60 takes three seconds . Though, this all happened on a rather steep onramp, so I could probably get to 60 in 8 seconds on flat ground.
Also, there is a brake fluid resivoir right in the way of the only place to run a strut tower brace unless I make the thing curve outwards 4 inches and risk the engine hitting it when it rocks back and forth.
Also I painted my grille with black laquer to fix the flaking rustoleum paint job. Looks much better.
Aaand I might be getting a Klipsch speaker to stuff in the truck. The 50 watts of my stock head unit was plenty to drive it. Nice mids and punch but not overwhelming bass. Will make a nice replacement (a horn tweeter and two 10-inch subs) for the 6x9 ACDelco subs that came stock.
Knock retard is down from 8 degrees to 3 degrees with midgrade. Going to put premium in it and see if I can get it down to 0. Not running as hellaciously rich as it used to, so that's good as well. Going to go and do some more data acquisition and try to get a 0-60 run on flat ground, then Monday comes an alignment.
Here, have a LeSabre T-Type:

I would say install longer 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears (no 2-3 shift on the 0-60). Also, order an ELM327 ($13), and download android torque pro to see everything your car is doing. Finally, try changing the fluid. It could help the slipping.

It's actually a 1-2 shift on the 0-60. Taller gears... don't really exist for this transmission. I actually have an ELM327 and Torque, but I was using HPTuners and a laptop to look at all the stats since there's a better refresh rate with the serial cable.
Changing the fluid? Not sure when the last time that was done. My dad read somewhere that it's "not really needed" so now is suddenly convinced that transmission fluid never needs to be changed or some nonsense as long as you change the filters.

Get that KR sorted before anything else.

I didn't know that the LeSabre took only 1 shift to get to 60.
Changing the fluid can make an incredible difference. I've seen badly slipping transmissions resurrected to new with a fluid change and a new filter.
