I was just watching the Top Gear house demolition episode, and all of a sudden I had the urge to check a surplus yard... so I found !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
The want is so strong... I wonder if I could import it to the US? If so, AWESOME!

ST220s are the euro equivalent to the Sable here in the US

Uh, I thought they were basically an early hot version of the 2005+ Five-Hundred and Taurus?

Wait, 6L diesel? Is that a misprint?
That seems insanely tiny for an armored vehicle.

Nah, a Cummins 5.9 (what was used in Ram Diesels from ??-2007) makes like 700 torque LOL so I would imagine a tuned up Mil-Spec version of the Perkins would probably put down around 1000 TQ

One could say that.

Still, that's a few tons of armor and I think this is actually fairly speedy, if it's the British armored vehicle I'm thinking of.

Yeah, top speed of around 50MPH lol it would be awesome to get plates for it and DD it! (I live in KS, it would probably be possible ;)

Oh, WANT

Just looked up the family, that's pretty good for a tracked vehicle that's not turbine powered. That must be one hell of a tune on the engine.

It's all in the gearing.

I think it would be fun to live out on around 200 Acres and to have this...

S&H is probably three times what MSRP is.

You could, but it would take a bit of doing. It'd have to be de-milled, there'd be import duties, all kinds of paperwork. If you're serious, look into going through a broker like Tank Town USA.

How would it need to be de-milled? It doesn't have any armament...

That was more of a general statement.

How about this?
10/11/2014 at 22:43 |

I don't really know specifics, just that it can be done.

They have two Corvettes too...

It's only a little tank and it only has to go about 50mph so that will be enough. Previous versions used a Jaguar engine as used in the E Type.
