Nice BMW owner get-together. Put my Bilstein shocks and sway bar on last night. But did the front struts with the help of more knowledgeable owners today. Overall, great weekend. Now my car handles like a go cart. No more bouncing.

More, also had some e30 guys. It was raining so those with pristine 02s brought other Bimmers.

It was. Also, fresh ground delicious burgers, fresh made german pretzels, and beer (mostly german). I had a great time and since I had no clue how to previously change struts, there was like 6 people all around my car working on it. The host, while I was on the floor working on the brake lines, retro fitted an e36 strut brace to my car. I get up and I'm like, why the hell not. It's not pretty, but shit it was $free.99. Also, I might be working out a deal to get some rare 14" steel wheels from a 2000cs. HYPE.

I'm jealous now. I wish I had an old Bimmer. The E90 is great but the community is meh. Most would rather send their car to a shop.

Definitely not as fun as owning an older Bimmer!

I understand. Even though it's harder to work on them, it's mostly a different breed. I go to Bimmerfest East and there are definitely two distinct groups: BMW enthusiasts and BMW owners. You can figure out that one. My first year I was parked next to an M6 with 23s, yo. Plus, with these cars, you car scare it with breaker bars and ratchets and parts just fall off. Everything is right there for you to work on.

love that owner vs. Enthusiast remark. I definitely agree with that.

There are certainly people who have taken apart their E90's and "built" it themselves, but that's not the norm. There's this one guy I met who lives around me in the D/M/V area who has a lift in his garage and he's able to pretty much do ANYTHING.

I wish that B5 A4 guys would do that, but we'd probably all end up fighting to the death.

Because I've got the 2.8, and that's the one with virtually no performance mods and mine isn't stanced so I'd reckon that I'd most likely be burned at the stake/waterboared or something fun like that.

Ohhh, nice. The craziest thing happened today. My friend and I, both 20, joke about random additions on the car adding horsepower as a joke. Then, when one guy put the strut brace on, this guy in his 40s said, "that has to be good for at least 20hp". Made my day. Like minded people of all ages. And, we like to comment on the stupidity of the new 'stance' movement.

His name on most forums is "Clem". Not sure he has a Z4M coupe, last I knew he had a supercharged E36 M3.

I'm not sure if you've ever heard of "creaminz". He owned an E92 M3 with a Liberty walk wide body and before that a Widebody e90.

Now he's drivinf this Widebody GT3..

This is f'ing beautiful. I am very jealous as my weekend involved nothing car related. Glad you got your shocks in struts in!

Side note, is the gold one with the trunk open on gold BBSs? If it it, I think those are my old wheels. I sold them to someone with a gold 2002 in Maryland. Ahaha.

Ohh shit, yah, that's Baltimore Lou. Small 02 world. I was a great time. And, even though my springs didn't ship, so they're not on yet, the thing is wonderful. The only limiting factor now are the tires. I haven't found the limit, nor do I want to, but I'm taking corners like I never have before. I don't even brake into most of them. The car is really easy to get a feel for. It's a damn go kart. Also, when I took the rear struts off, I did the compression test, and they never came back up. So I was only riding on springs.
