Made me think: I'm having a usual burger (apparently named the Hummer for its voracious size. Not for the feint of heart!) with a side of "Corvette" french fries and a Pepsi on the side, when all of a sudden, I wonder - am I sitting in a dying art? Have we, as a collective society regressed so badly that we consider "McDonald's" a fine-dining experience for the high life? Has Gordon Ramsay (or other applicable people) taught us nothing? Well, if you're still with me, I'm talking about the dying breed: Independent Restaurants.

Now, before some of you say "oh, that's because restaurants tend to charge more than those obesity magnets", I'll ask you this: when you're in a restaurant, do you expect good-tasting entrees that won't clog over 50% of your arteries with fat?

I've always thought that chain restaurants were in it for the money, leaving out everything else that mattered in the cold; worker's wages, regulations and the one factor that made cuisine great: Good, tasting food. I mean, sure, I'd get what I pay for but paying $7.90 for a horrible meal isn't what I had in mind. I'd probably pay $2-5 more for good tasting dishes, thanks. And I don't feel the need to exercise right after, too. As well as a tip here.

But I digress. The Independent Restaurants are probably being forced out by greedy chains such as "What the Pho" and "Five Guys", leaving us with pot bellies and possibly taking our hard-earned money away from the community.

Anywhoo, end rant. Here's a Chevy Fleetside pickup with a doghouse traffic Signal.
