She was hit by a drunk driver last night, but fortunately, she's okay. Anyway, because of this, my mother is giving her 2014 Fiesta sedan to her, and she's looking for a new car.

I suggested that a manual NB or early NC Miata might be the answer for the insurance payout, and I think she likes the idea.

I'm turning my mother into a Jalop! (Hopefully.)

I have so much hate for drunk drivers. I know it sucks to ditch your car and walk home because you weren't expecting to drink (I've done it and had to walk 3 miles home) but is it really worth the risk?

I honestly do not understand why the Fiesta is even sold as a sedan. It is so much more practical as a hatch.

Yes, I know that styling is subjective and some people do not like hatchbacks. Those people are crazy though, so we should just ignore them.

HATCHBACK ALL THE FIESTAS!!

Also, glad that everyone is alright, and they you might be getting a Miata in the family.

I understand why she got the sedan at first... (Namely, she drove a Suzuki SX4 hatch, until the day my brother stuffed it nose-first into a ditch while trying to play rally driver.)

But, the hatch really is better.

I love that Suzuki. I want one to make into a Rally-X car.

We had two AWD SX4s in the family... My mom's did its job, keeping my brother uninjured after he hit the ditch at 50+, and my sister's did its job keeping her safe, last night.

Awesome little cars, and surprisingly stout, as well. I may pitch an '09 or a '10 SX4 with AWD and manual as a suggestion, come to think of it.

To be fair to your sister, she didn't wreck the car, the drunk wrecked her car. Glad she's okay.
