Digging up a year-old article about the former CEO who clearly has no idea what he's talking about doesn't prove anything.

Tesla's cars have been featured in PRG4, and Forza 4 so they obviously no longer have any issue with their IP being used in a racing game.

True but like you said the article was old and I could just barely remember it. I just remembered something about cars eating black people and thought given that reaction I find it odd that they would work with Microsoft. I'm still surprised he back tracked and allowed it to go a head.
