the correct settings for a F80 M3.

Unless the road is a bit damp, then you might want MDM mode so you don't end up in the woods.

Is the steering not too artificially stiff?

I enjoyed driving the F80 M3, my driving was on damp forest B-roads so MDM stayed on. :D

If you drive around a wet corner at speed (nothing crazy, say a 55 mph freeway "curve" while raining) does the steering wheel still retain the same weight regardless of how wet it is? THAT is what has driven me nuts about the F3X and I cannot accept. I had no idea what the front end was doing, according to what the wheel was telling me I had as much resistance feeding into me as I would with full grip even though I could tell the front end was washing in and and out. This was reiterated when I hustled around corners to 7/10's and I approached the slight start of understeer where, again, the resistance in the wheel should have dropped to communicate back how much grip I had and how much more lock to feed in until I reached the same forces acting against me to tighten the line... It was honestly maddening.

Please tell me the F8X has somewhat rectified these issues.

It's much more communicative than an F30, or any non-M car for that matter. Most BMWs will give you a small amount of initial understeer no matter what, M3 included, but with the M3 it's much easier to overcome via throttle application.
