Here's the 2016 Camaro going through some evaluations. It appears to be fairly far along in its development cycle. Yeah, I know it's not drastically different, but they didn't say it would be. However, they ARE hard at work on this project, and they need to be. The competition is keeping them from sleeping with all the nightmarish performance values. Let's see how this turns out. Sounds great in prototype form!

It almost looks to be the same size and body as the current camaro... maybe it's just old body on top of new chassis and drivetrain?

It looks to me like a prototype with a production body. I don't think they changed too much, but what they did change is heavily disguised.

Could be. I was hoping it would be a lot smaller but I suppose that wouldn't make sense.
Where's our code 130R damnit.
And our performance hatch from Chevy. Where's that???

I doubt they're loosing sleep after seeing the Mustang performance numbers.

Need a Cruze hatch SS.

I'm going to flag this because it needs a NSFW tag.
j/k

I really have no idea how I would feel about that.
On one hand, the current Cruze is one of THE most boring cars ever, and is starting to age in looks.
On the other hand, if you gave it an aggressive look, a hatch, and used a proper high output turbo 4, it could be freaking awesome.
There is this for a non-performance visual:
Either way, where the hell is Chevy in the performance market outside of the vette/camaro. I don't count the SS because it is just... low volume and WAY too expensive for a Chevy.

I'd say that, that is a nice evolutionary change. The big changes are underneath. Alpha based suspension architecture. Probably lighter, not by much.

Boy that car is flying through there. Barely any body roll whatsoever.

I'm wondering why anyone isn't noticing this video though. This thing was literally spied a matter of hours ago and it's the first real look at the new Camaro they've been working on.

In the same place the G8 Sport Truck is more than likely..

Agreed, Im gonna say 150lbs less similarly equipped. And 30hp/30tq +

Yeah the Cruze is another one of those small sedans with a tiny stubby trunk that was so obviously meant to be a hatch or a wagon. I mean just look at how much better looking that is and with at least 240 hp turbo four? It would be a hoot.

I think there may have been one before this but it wasn't near as long or as detailed.

It's not that they're worried about. It's the upcoming trend of super high-output top-level production engines like the Hellcat. We all know they will eventually slip the new LT4 into the upcoming Camaro as well. Maybe it'll have more squeezed out of it.

Given the current SS is on par with the new GT. That's all they need to do to be firmly ahead.

No, there were just really bad spy pics of a mule testing with body cladding covering it up. This is the first time it has even been seen driving hard like this.

*300hp. FTFY.
But yes, that looks WAY better as a hatch. Honestly, when the cruze came out, the MPG's and the look made for a decent car. It has just became so damn boring, and didn't age well as a sedan.

Sigh... I think you're right

Im sure Ford has a couple things up their sleeve. As Im sure Chevy does too. Will be fun to see them battle. I think Challenger is done untill the next generation.

To me it always been a good but not great car and somehow that annoys me more than crappy cars. They suck because they can't do any better. Obviously GM can do better and just chose not to.

That hurts.

Totally on point there. I think you summed up in words what the car truly is. Ugh.
