Hey guys. Kinda busy right now but will post some more updates about the car once I get some time.

The seller is just a fantastic guy, When he dropped off the car yesterday, he spent two hours going over it with me. He and his dad had just replaced the steering box and I LOVE the way that the steering feels now. They did some other front end work as well, including new engine mounts. As he was driving away from my house yesterday, he suddenly stopped and reversed back. He said that he noticed a leak as he pulled away. Sure enough, there's a leak from under the car. At first he thought it might be excess oil because his dad spilled a little when they changed it before they dropped the car off. He didn't see any in his parking spot but he figured that the slope of my driveway might have caused the excess to pool and drip out of the corner of the tray. He checked as best he could and told me to keep an eye on it.

Driving it yesterday I noticed that it was still dripping whenever I parked it for a while. I texted the seller and he told me that him and his dad were trying to figure out what it could be as the car has never had any leaks. They wondered if it might be power steering fluid leaking from the new steering box that they'd just replaced. Long story short, he's off work this week so he asked me to leave the keys somewhere safe outside my house and he and his dad are gonna track down and fix the source of the mystery leak this afternoon. He said that it's never dripped or leaked since he's owned it and wants to make sure that "the car is right". Seriously, I don't even know what to say. It's not even his car or problem anymore and he's going out of his way to fix it. Blown away.

Anyway, here's a bunch of pics:

This is the best car buying experience I've ever read about.

And the light up shifter...I like that.

Thanks man. Yeah, it truly is the best car bauying experience ever. Seller is a great guy. We've actually become friends as a result of this sale. Just goes to show that not everyone out there is trying to rip you off or scam you. Honestly, he underpriced it as well. $9500 for this car is ridiculous, considering that it's had probably about $40k put into it, especially by the guy who owned it before the guy who sold it to me. I'm gonna post some pics of the records and history that come with this car. It's staggering...

I did that to the guy I sold my old 944 to. Though his problem was electrical, I knew it was probably a short in the tail lights (long story). A lot of us just get a kick out of working on cars. So, this is probably entertainment to him. He probably gets as much satisfaction out of fixing it as you do having him fix it. Taking pride in your work helps too. Awesome story and I wish there were more out there like this.
