Oooook, don't be shy. I know probably some of you will get your torches and track me to the hills while I flee in panic, but to start the discussion I need to confess: I don't like the Nissan GTR

I don't have, really, a good reason for this, I just don't like it and I can't figure why so many people simply adore it. I know it is a pretty nifty work of engineering, but for me it's a no.

I don't like the Ferrari LaFerrari either. Apart from the absolutely silly name, it looks like a Hot Wheels car designed for kids. Again, I know it's engineering is almost alien, but it's so damn ugly I can't appreciate it.

Phew! I'm so relieved now after taking this burden off my chest!

I think Nipponthusiasts like the GTR because it's like LFA fast without LFA pricetag. And it's the culmination of everyone's Skyline fanboy fantasies.

It's OK that you don't like the Ferrari The Ferrari. What a stewpid name as well.

I'm kind of the same way on the GTR. My big one that'll earn me my own bonfire, though, is the Chevelle. It's just... eh. Something about the whole is less than the sum of its parts to me, and the styling leaves me completely cold. It's weird, though. I like the Cougar, the contemporary Challenger, the Riviera, and a lot of cars with similar cues and look, but something about the Chevelle...

I like the idea of the i3 and i8 as cars — bringing modern materials to production cars, making a fast EV (i8), or a decent city car (i3)... I think the styling is a bit overdone, and it's the last thing I would expect from BMW. They work great as concepts — showing what the future holds for enthusiasts and daily drivers alike — but the styling is too outlandish.

That, and I just don't understand the Veyron. It's ugly, it doesn't corner well, it's ungodly expensive (not even just to buy — $20,000 for tires!), and it's not all that practical (even the GT-R has back seats... sort of).

The BMW M3/M4. It's no longer a good value, it's in a different price strata now (with far more exclusive alternate options, like Cayman GTSs, Z06 Vettes, and 1 year old baby Astons), and generally doesn't make sense, since if you option it up, you are in high end 5er/base 7er strata, and at the top end, why not just spend an extra $3000 and slot into an M5?

And as a track car? Why not spend less money and have an Ariel Atom?

And the looks...bleh!

Utterly, utterly pointless. Unless you absolutely have to have the Bavarian colors on your badge.

Because from the front it looks like a surprise duck face, and because everyone saying how gorgeous it is brings out the petulant naysayer in me.

Also, while I love the C7 Stingray, I think it's a flop design-wise. Those rear light clusters look like $5 plastic batman add-ons.

I get that there are some high-performance models and Shelby GTs, like the ones in Paul Walker's collection that are probably legitimately desirable, but in the part of country I'm in, at least, Fox-bodies are all crappy, driven by trashy types. *Puts on flame suit* But, I'm biased... my cousin dated a guy who drove one, and he was the biggest tool I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.

I don't like cars that don't come out of the American Big 3. That means no Miatas, No GTR's no Ferrari's no BMW's, etc.

Just not into them. I respect their capabilities, but I don't like them.

I've driven the R35 GTR. It's a solid "meh" for me. Not my cup of tea. Plus it looks and feels like a Nissan because, you know, it is one. The LaFerrari though... well, have you seen one in real life? It might change your mind.

when you say "I don't like this" are we talking about aesthetics? having (briefly) driven a GTR, I don't care what the thing looks like, or if it's "too computer-y" - it's fucking fantastic. I'm sure the LaFerrari is the same story.

Yeah, in the same sense one could say "I don't like the new DW-12 Indycars" or "I don't like the Audi R18 e-tron quattro". As a peasant, I don't had and I believe I'll probably never have the opportunity to even sit in both of them, or a good part of my dream cars.

The idea came after thinking why so many people drool over the GTR or the LaFerrari, because these cars don't cause any reaction in me. However, there are other cars (which I never drove as well) for which I drool over, or rubberneck when I see them on the road, like a '60s Mustang, for example.

For me, it's just two categories that are rather popular that I just don't like:

1. Any saloon that isn't a WRX STi or Lancer Evo. Though I prefer the WRX STi hatch out of all of the newer ones anyway. You guys all go nuts over fast four-doors, when I'd be much happier with either a coupe or hatch/wagon. I just don't like saloons, practicality be damned. They come off as bland and a bit bloated. Besides, I don't have any friends or family to stick in the back seat anyway....

2. Pretty much any GM car. I dislike the company. I dislike essentially every car they've made bar the El Camino. I'm just not a fan. Ford was in the same boat up until recently, when they started building better USDM driver's cars like the FiST, FoST, and the new Mustang. Dodge would be too, if it weren't for the Viper.

I hate every Nissan/Infiniti. Nissans all look like bloated messes. Infinitis look like bloated messes that melted a little more.

That being said. I do think the GTR does look way better in real life albiet a bit huge. I still hate the design, but I do admire it a bit when I see it in real life.
