...Ford could build a 350hp, AWD Fuion wagon, but it doesn't, because it wants to sell more Edges.
Thanks Ford, you really must hate Oppo.

The same could be said about literally any company. Take that for what you will.

Ford doesn't hate Oppo ford likes money. As much as we would love it, it would not sell.

...Ford could build a 350hp, AWD Fuion wagon, but it doesn't, because *people in america don't want wagons. Like, we do, but the hordes out there who made the Camry the best selling car in the world wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole, no matter how fast it is.
Fixed.

Meh. The Edge is too big. Escape would be better

Not really, you see the Fusion is a global model, the same car that is offered here, it is also sold in Europe, so adding the 4 cylinder Ecoboost engine from the Mustang to that wagon, along with AWD and some ST badges could be relatively easy.
Some of Ford's competitors simply cannot do that, due model variation. Toyota is a good example. The Avensis they sell in Europe is a totally different car from out Camry.
That would make it very hard to certify for the American market, and Toyota would also need time to develop a turbo 4, capable of producing 350hp and an AWD system especially for that car.
If you look at Kia or Nissan, they never bothered to develop mid sized wagons, nor did Chevy, since its European adventure was short and not as productive as it hoped.

Now this I like. Give it that red/orange color from the fiesta as well.

Not a specifically a midsized sportswagon, but any company could give us some sort of enthusiast's wet dream eased on a current model if they weren't to busy building and trying to sell the boring CUVs and such that most people want.

If what you say is true(and most is), it means that the car industry learned absolutely nothing from this guy.
I guess the said car industry will need a Steve Jobs of its own, and that isn't Elon Musk, but rather Akio Toyoda.

It would take considerably more than that to get americans to buy wagons. Jesus Christ could appear and become a spokesman for wagons, and that would get them upgraded from a solid 'no' to a 'maybe'. Most would still buy whatever the hell the Venza and it's competitors are trying to be.

"...Ford could build a 350hp, AWD Fusion wagon, but it doesn't, because no one in America would buy it NEW, which is what car-makers care about, so they keep on selling Edges that DO sell when new.."
Fixed that for you. No need to thank me.

The Steve Jobs method is what Porsche is following. It is not applicable to Ford as a brand unless Ford is aiming to become a low-volume, high-margin, premium marque.
Now, Lincoln on the other hand...
P.S. The iBook G3 was terrible in every way.

Replace Edge with Flex and I'd agree with you. The Edge is too...bland looking. The Flex with a 5.0, at least RWD, and a manual would be amazing. It's the closest thing Ford has to a full-size wagon, and it deserves V8 power & RWD.
