Power steering leak maybe? Bad power steering pump or pulley? Maybe an axle or tie rod? There aren't too many parts to the steering rack to cause noise.

Improper wheel balance? Steering bushings? Steering rack itself?

Maybe a CV joint or Wheel Bearing?

Everything everyone said, but I'd also take a quick glance at the rest of the suspension just in case.

I was thinking the same thing. Clicking could be a sign of a torn axle boot.

Well, you can have torn axle boots without the clicking. By the time it starts clicking, it's too late.

True, true. I bought my Outback with torn axle boots and they made TERRIBLE noises during low speed turns cause all the grease had been flung out.

That is pretty vague. Is the noise coming from one corner of the car? What kind of noise, is it a click/tick, groan, shriek, or a werewolf howl!?

ball joints, CV joints, maybe a tie rod end (though probably not)
I'm leaning hardest towards a CV joint problem. Depending on severity, I don't think I'd recommend a 3 hour trip.

if it is a whining noise, power steering? Otherwise ball joints.
