This week, for me, is going to be a bitch to get through. Midterms start Thursday. I'm behind on all kinds of work. I'm getting pretty close to broke. I can't afford to pay for some work that was done on the 2002. I haven't driven a car in weeks. Jesus H Christ at least I have some decent new rap to bump while my world is slowly falling apart.
(Bonus: Name that car!)
A$AP Rocky - Multiply (Juicy J, luckily, doesn't actually rap. He just does an intro)
Joey Bada$$ (below) is a month older than I am, thus reminding me that I have produced nothing of note in my entire life. Thanks, bruh.
Joey Bada$$ - Christ Conscious
Paging Dr. Benjamin Rolland. New York is showing signs of life. We have a long way to go before hip-hop gets over its 2000's slump, but we're starting to see steps in the right direction. In my professional opinion, intensive rehabilitation is still necessary but the prognosis shows signs of hope.

It's been way too long since Asap dropped something. Have you listened to flatbush zombies at all? There in the same NY thing as the asap mob and pro era (the group Joey bada$$ is in)

Yes! Palm Trees is my shit. I was joking around with Rome Fortune a couple weeks ago and told him that he needed to perform with Zombie Juice when his hair was purple. His hair and Rome's green beard would be a sick look.

Ahahaha. Unfortunately 2000 doesn't count towards hip-hop in the 2000's.
I guess I should say the mainstream 2000's slump. There's always been good stuff out there, but in the mid 00's, mainstream rap was... lacking. Lil Jon was unfortunately prevalent, Bow Wow was a thing, and 50 was creating a huge shadow over The Game, who is better than 50 in every way (in my opinion).
The two songs above are undeniably mainstream hip-hop. They'll both be on every hip-hop radio station at some point and while they aren't the best the genre has to offer, they're pretty damn good.
Then there's Bobby Shmurda, aka hip-hop's savior (so much sarcasm)

haha I need to listen to more modern rap to know what I am talking about, but I hear alot of phony rapping over uninspired "beats" an d it is infuriating. Still living in the golden age of rap here...

In that case look up anything by Bobby Shmurda (nsfw lyrics in link, but duh). It's so cookie cutter that it's almost funny.
It's hard to beat the classics. Tribe, Wu Tang, Common, Mobb Deep, and Mos Def (does Mos count as a classic yet?) are untouchable in my mind. Though Kendrick is certainly showing everyone that hip-hop isn't dead yet. The East coast seems like its finally starting to step its game up again, too.

I'm more of a 2Pac guy, myself. Not an East-West thing (I'm equal opportunity), but I just never got quite as into Biggie.

I've been meaning to consistently do Raplopnik posts, but I always forget and end up doing one every two or three weeks. Shame on me. It would actually be pretty easy now. I joined my school's hip-hop appreciation club so everyone posts the newest good tracks to our Facebook page. I should honestly stop being a lazy fuck and post more.
Keep it G is dope. I think Bass is my favorite off that album though... Not that you could make a bad choice. LiveLoveA$ap was such an amazing freshman album.

Did you hear this though? http://genius.com/discussions/10…
That was cut from Bada$$'s upcoming album, which means his new stuff has got to be fire.

yes!!! I can't wait til his album drops. So many people are sleeping on him, it's driving me crazy.
We really gotta make Raplopnik a more common thing. I mean, cars have played a big role in hip hop so it's not like it would be totally off topic.

I was planning on going to their concert in philly in December, but its the day before my finals start. I was so disappointed. My favorite is G Tearz or Bath Salts. They're both so good.

It's going to be insane. I think B4.Da.$$ and Run the Jewels 2 are the albums I'm most pumped about right now. Though King Push and whatever Kendrick is going to come out with are going to be on replay for weeks.
Raplopnik needs to become a regularly occurring thing here. And pictures of low riders and whatnot can accompany the music so it truly is car related.
It actually took some searching to find a picture of Rocky in a car that was big enough. Dude doesn't drive or have much interest in cars. Ahaha.

have you heard any new gambino? It's definitely not like the usual him but it's not bad.
Run the jewels 2 is gonna be nice, I'm waiting on that.
You wanna combine rap and cars? Listen to action bronson. Saab stories was a great album, and the guy even drives an E34 wagon.

Yeesss! Strictly 4 My Jeeps was my fucking theme song over the summer. The fact that he has an 8 series in that video means he knows what's up. I would blast is whenever I was driving my Wrangler. I love Bronson. Have you seen Fuck, That's Delicious? Best food show known to man. Ahahaha.
I actually haven't heard any new Gambino since Candler Road dropped. He just came out with an EP, right?

Yes!! Bronson is the man. I'd blast it all the time if I had a wrangler. He even has a TL-type s in a video. That's balling, he knows whats good. Pouches of tuna is probably my favorite bronson song.
I love Fuck, that's delicious. He really does know his shit when it comes to food. The way he brings food into his music is impressive.
Yeah it's called STN MTN. http://stonemounta.in/kauai/
I'm liking a few of the tracks in it. Someone also found a secret track by him.
