Sweet, one of the ones without an optioned RH mirror. We've got one that way. Got another with no sunroof and with stick. Assuming here it's a 240D, because he says Model: Other, and would have flouted the turbo if he had it.

Is it a 240D? A 300D? A 300TD? It would be the rarest of them all being a FWD instead of RWD.

If it's a non-turbo, it's not going to be very interesting to drive... think "garbage truck slow" and you have the idea. I'm not exaggerating! It really is that slow! Hell, even the 300 with the turbo OM617 is pretty sluggish, but at least livable. The lack of a side mirror on this car makes me doubt it's a turbo, but I'm far from an expert!
Personally I would only buy a non-turbo OM617 or any OM616 car if I was looking for an apocalypse-proof car and I didn't value performance. At all. Ever.

Oh I know they are slow. I think the OM616 had 58hp new or something similar.
Depending on the interior/ability to put a Duramax in it we will see what happens.

Duramax would be super tight... these things don't exactly have the roomiest engine bays. The front crossmember is pretty huge too and runs right thought the center.
You might have better luck with an old 6.2 or 6.5 GM diesel. Or be "that guy" and run a VW TDI like all the Jeep guys are starting to do! More power and more economy than any of the stock oil burners this thing could have had!
