Hank Moody style, an idea came to me while having a drink and I had to pick up the proverbial pen and write.
As a lot of you know, the poor Heep is down for the count right now. It could be a bad plug or a bad fuel pump or pretty much anything in between. Under normal circumstances I truly cherish driving. The Jeep hasn't been stuck in limp mode for this long in a while so I'm really starting to miss it. The experience is so visceral and satisfying. I can crank my killer sound system supplemented by two 12 inch subwoofers or roll the windows down, shutoff the stereo and just listen to the hum of the mud tires/kick-ass roar of the turn down exhaust. I'm pretty mechanically inclined and in the end I'll get it figured out but it's an oft used getaway that can keep you sane even in the most trying of times.
But what I'm getting at is that driving your "baby", just like most other daily occurrences, is far too often taken for granted. We tend to, shine up, and talk up our cars and trucks as if they're kids of our own. It sounds so silly and absurd (it is) to equate our vehicles to human life, but to most enthusiasts they are extensions of our own being. You don't really understand how great you have it until you don't.
So this is kind of a sulk ridden PSA to enjoy your pride and joys while they're in good health. Upshift a little too late, wash it too often, and brag about it too much.
Happy driving, ya'll!

Your absolutely right. Im in the same boat as you right now. My jeep has been in the shop for a couple weeks now and its to the point that any other vehicle just doesnt feel as natural to drive as the jeep ive put so much into, and im hoping it comes back soon. Im sorry to hear about your Cherokee but youll figure out what the problem is for sure. I hope next post i see from you is how its back on the road!
