Scheduled an appointment for the car at a dealer. When I said I had a 300ZX, they asked if it was like a 380(yes, 380)Z.
It's my first time taking my car to the stealership and I'm terrified.

But yes, they are dumb as shit.
I would be afraid as soon as someone said that to me. Luckily my local dealership seems to be staffed by non-tards

I'll be honest, I'd be too. Not that I take mine to dealerships, they'll pop the hood, get baffled that the 2.0 liter Tipo has several non interchangeable parts with the infinitely more common 1.6 Tipo, swap crappy parts in anyways, call it a day, then apologize when the car fails coming out the lot, become embarrassed at an impromptu fix I've learned from owning the same car since 2006 that they hadn't even thought of, and I end up having to take it to a far more expensive shop that specializes in imports.
Fingers crossed it works out better for you...

At least yours is NA. I really hope its something simple and that they don't screw your car up. It would be a shame to see such a clean 300zx off the road

Don't you hate that shit? Happens all the time with my Z. I'm like nooooooo it's a 280Z not a ZX. It is a S30 not a S130 and you just want to hammer smash their face in.

It'll only be off the road for long if the next owner treats it wrong. I'm getting rid of it as soon as I get it running right. I'm sick of the problems.

If it was a turbo, I'd be keeping it. If I can find a well maintained TT manual, I'll snatch it up. If I get even close to my asking price, that'll be feasible.
