The whole bodykit thing seems to have died out, so I was quite surprised. Reminded me of my days back in SoCal, when every damn Civic had an ugly bodykit.

One of my coworkers has a Civic with a body kit, as does a frequent customer. I'll never understand.

Older Honda Civics have provided me some of the best amusement when I'm on the road. I once had one "race" me (I use that word reluctantly) from a stop light. Had to be early 80's Civic, with a fart can and other crappy and partially falling off aero kits. I do not own a fast car. A Mazda3 with a 2.0L SkyActiv engine does not a fast car make.

But I accelerated to about 48 in a 45 and kept my comfortable lead until I turned off onto the street my apartment is on.

It's almost guaranteed that any Civic with a fart can attached to it will provide everyone great amusement.

Classic... I love it.

What I really miss from those days (by which I mean, I do not miss at all) are all the Nissan hardbody pickups and Toyota Paseos & Tercels with the 100-spoke rims that stuck out 3" past the fenders.

Thankfully, I have yet to see that trend up here in WNY. I'll probably cringe horribly if I ever do see one of those abominations, however.

street racing is bad, we all know that. with that said I 'accelerated at a brisk pace' a couple times. Of the more memorable was a kid with the backwards hat in a Kia Sportage. I believe it was a stick too, he had his bro-buddy and their chicks. He chirped the tires at the green and I was gone (explorer) I also got next to an M3 in the rain. He got really pissed when I beat him to the next light (also an explorer) It basically came down to knowing how to drive. I knew to shift it into 4wd and he thought just flooring it would work. the blond in his passenger seat was pretty good looking. I never exceeded speed limits for either of these events.

I was on my way to work many moons ago on a street with a long curve and a light at the end that loved to turn red when you came to it. A fartcan civic blasted past me, and a moment later, a 90s era tahoe full of (what I assume to be) highschool kids followed screaming "GO! GO! GO!"

Well, I got to the light. Mr. Fartcan was there waiting. The tahoe and highschool kids were nowhere to be seen.

Wow. Much slow. So beaten. Such humiliation. Wow.

With any hope, it stays in the 90's, dead and buried. I only post these photos in memorial.

I just stole it from Google... but apparently it showed up on CL in St. Louis a few months back, and some kind redditor made an imgur archive of the pics: here

Hint: it gets worse...

It's utterly hilarious how slow every fartcanned car is.
