Charles J. Jones is being charged with homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle, as well as first degree reckless endangering safety.
Jones was "changing lanes and passing in traffic recklessly", according to Sheriff's officials, when his vehicle lost control and struck another vehicle, causing it to roll over.
That vehicle's driver, a 54-year-old Milwaukee man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His 27-year-old passenger was thrown from the vehicle and suffered non-life threatening injuries. Neither victims were wearing seat belts.
If convicted, Jones faces up to 22 and a half years in prison. The Milwaukee County Sheriff's office says he was on his way to a doctor's appointment. Alcohol is not believe to have played a factor.
So yeah, people. Don't drive like an asshole in traffic. You might hit someone else dumb enough to drive without a seatbelt and kill them.

It absolutely blows my mind how people will still drive without seat belts.
I literally can't even comprehend the (lack of) logic that goes into making that conscious decision. It's beyond me.

My co-worker does this. Boggles my mind. I can't even start the car without first putting my seat-belt on.

Friend of mine with a 500AWHP STi drives THAT CAR without a seatbelt and I just don't understand why not. I'd want a 5 point harness and a cage in that thing.

Seriously, it's just instinct. I get in, I put my phone inside the center arm rest, buckle up, then start the car. That's the exact same routine everytime I get in my car.
You'd have to be a fucking idiot to not wear a seat belt these days. Almost all of the airbags and other safety features are pretty much worthless without the basic 3-point harness that is the seat belt. All of those safety devices rely on you being in a certain position during a crash and when you're flying around the cabin, it completely nullifies any protection they might have given you.
