I now have a B5 S4 for track duty. Well, for track duty moreso than my Z4 Roadster. I'll have to learn to drive again with quattro on the track now.

I didn't want to pay the insurance for road use, so no plate, and track only insurance. But it is a 6MT.

Track only insurance? how does that work? Liability only in case someone gets hurt?

Fortunately early 2000 S4s didn't have ESP. Late 2000s and on did. :)

Nice, Gotcha.

What will you trailer it with?

If I total the car, I get agreed value for the car.

However, I'm not that worried about it, since it's a $3000 car.

I have a 95 F-150 and a 18 foot open flat trailer with two braked 3500lb axles.

Sounds like a pretty nice toy hauler!

I'm going to track my B5 A4 once I'm done DD'ing it.

Didn't I just read a post on here today about someone selling an E30 to someone on payments, and the guy traded it to someone else (sans title as the OP still had it because the person hadn't finished paying him) for a B5 S4?

It's capable, but I'm always on the look out for a good 3/4 ton diesel.

It was an A4 that was traded, not an S4.

Besides, my brother has title, and I will have clear title in a few days once it gets processed by the state.

Ah. I didn't think you were the asshole, it was just really odd that it was posted earlier.

You bought an AWD car with the engine mounted in front of the axle to use as a track car? If I had a popcorn graphic I'd use it here =)

Some trail braking required.

But "Duh!" I'm used to RWD on a track so I will have to learn to drive all over again because weight distribution.

At least the videos might be funny.

Same, I was looking for a clean one with a 6-speed but I just couldn't find one.

Umm, yeah. Calling it a radical departure from the dynamics of your Z4 would be an understatement. You know the "WHY DID YOU TURN!?" video? I think it would be funny if, mid-understeer, you screamed "WHY DIDN'T YOU TURN?!" That video has Jalopnik sensation written all over it!!

Granted for sweepers, a car with forward biased weight can be made to work well. The tighter and more weight shift you have side to side, the worse off an unbalanced Audi is.

I was considering the Mini for such shenanigans, but my brother needed to sell his car so that's why I bought it from him.

It is slightly more comedy handling than a Mini, but I'm not ready to subject the Mini to track duty until it's out of warranty.

I'd rather subject a Mini to track duty when it is under warranty!
