I'm so excited! First post on Oppo! Woohoo!

Ahem.

I am a 23 year old guy currently residing in New Delhi, India. (The Prime Minister of my country made this gaffe recently, I apologize to my friends in the US:

Anyway.

I have been going around the country since I was certified to travel as a baby. Have been fascinated by cars, bikes, trains, planes, tanks, ships... you name it. Circumstances helped me grow around these and so began my journey of becoming an auto-enthusiast.

Have been able to make friends with mechanics and drivers pretty easily, and they'd let me drive/ride or tinker with them. I started driving/riding without my parents knowing about it. I surprised them by parallel parking our car after my father gave up one time.

Performance at school was miserable by the time I reached the higher classes, grades were not good enough for me to pursue engineering (would have gone for automobile/aeronautical if I was good enough). Joined an undergrad Journalism course instead.

Am now a content writer for an automotive blog. Yay!

Likes: Eating, travelling, watching comedy films/TV series (mostly British), listening to people, discovering new stuff everyday.

Car bait: Hatchbacks. Why? I can't live with a large car, don't have the space to park it, it's easier to maneuver in tight spaces and I have a small family.

My Ride: A 2004 Maruti Suzuki Zen.

First car in the family. Have tried to take care of it but the traffic in most of cities coupled with idiotic drivers have left it a bit bruised.

Saving up to make it a proper hoon-mobile. Plans include stripping off the interior (except for the brilliant A/C), adjustable suspension, engine upgrades (contemplating replacing the standard engine with the brilliant 1.0-litre Ford EcoBoost engine), brake upgrades, roll-cage, tyres and more.

It's good in stock form, but most of you guys in the US would call this a poor man's car (which it is). The good thing about it is that it can give newer hatchbacks sold in India a run for their money in terms of performance (also tells you that most Indians don't care about performance, its always about fuel-economy. AAARGH)

Also, I am an amateur photographer. I'll leave you with this:

Thank you !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for making me an author on Oppo. I will use this power wisely!

Am I? I think 6spdman may be an Indian. He knows Hindi and owns a Royal Enfield. I may be wrong though.

And Thank You!
