!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

This is going to be short, considering in my latest update of the above it is much more informative for a new player right off the bat. I'll provide some answers to common questions you may have now or at some point in the future. Any questions not answered here? Leave a comment below.

When should I refit components on my car?

Kinja'd!!!

Components can be refitted after every race if desired, provided your finances aren't in trouble. Components also should be refit when you have a new upgraded design for each. On the left, components that have a red model number next to them can be refit to the car with the latest researched model, which is shown under 'Refit'. Components need to be refit before they degrade to 0%(your car will retire or not race if the components degrade to 0%).

Note : The suspension is easily the one component that endures the most wear and tear through the season. It needs to be replaced once each race or once per 2 races.

The maximum engineers and mechanics you will ever need are 34 engineers and 24 mechanics (for a 1-car league). This lets you refit every single component on your car before the next race. Based on how many staff you have room for, how you split the number of staff you are able to hire is up to you.

Here is what it looks like to refit the entire car before the next race. Refitting costs may vary, depending on how much you have trained your engineers and mechanics. Here you can see I don't need more than 34 engineers and 24 mechanics.

How do I see the amount of degradation my components are experiencing during a race?

Kinja'd!!!

During a race in the live data view or 2D view, you can click on your driver's name on the race chart and view your components colors. When your components are at 100% condition, they are colorless. As they degrade, their colors transition fluidly to yellow, orange, and finally red. When your components are red, they are close to 0% condition. If you ever see your components turn red in a race, there is a strong chance they will fail before the race is complete. A component failure results in a race retirement.

Why does my driver get slower as the push level gets higher?

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Do your tires look hot pink or blazing red when you raise your push level? Your tires are probably too hot. Push level only instructs your driver how hard to push the car. The harder the car is driven, the hotter tires get. Depending on the track and what compounds you are using, they may get ice cold, maintain good heat, or even overheat on the lowest push level.

I have the research facility now. Should I clone parts I spied on from another team?

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

That depends on if their component's development is far higher than yours. Is your component behind by 20% or more of their component's development? If so, you ought to give it a shot. Cloning only nets you a few extra % in current season performance. Be careful though, cloning another team's component's does not net you any % for next season performance. This is a great option for people focusing on designing entirely to improve components for next season performance but still looking to be somewhat competitive in the current season.

Which suppliers should I sign with?

Kinja'd!!!

If you are looking for new suppliers, you will need to experiment with what works for you. There are many combinations of suppliers, finding the one that works for you will take a long time. Think about which aspects of performance are important to you, engine, fuel, and tire-wise.

What skills should I train on my driver?

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

There are different ways to go about training your driver's skills. There are 6 overall skills, with 17 of 20 driver attributes that reside under those 6.

You cannot train Talent or Experience. Talent is a fixed attribute and never increases nor decreases. Experience increases on its own by a minuscule amount per race and does not ever decrease. Morale is trained via training the Doctor.

All other attributes can be trained by determining what you feel is needed for your driver to succeed.

What can a good chief designer and technical director do for me?

Kinja'd!!!

A chief designer who has the same rating as your scouting level and more experience can help increase your maximum design performance and keeps your design team from releasing new components that are only marginally better than your current ones.

Kinja'd!!!

A technical director who has the same rating as your scouting level and more experience can help provide more accurate fuel consumption predictions for your races.

If there anything else to add, let me know. Ask questions if you have any!

Are the race times in local time? So does 21:30 race time mean 21:30 EST in my cast, or is it GMT because it's a british website?

Okay cool sorry for the dumb question! I have a driver, I have run tests, so I am good to go!

That's fine. As for doing your test runs, if you've run them early because you won't be able to live manage or sign in reliably tomorrow, that's fine as well. Try to do your test runs as close to race weather conditions as possible to ensure a car set up as close as possible to the track and weather conditions.

good call. I'll keep that in mind for the future. I guess I just got a bit over zealous because it's all shiny and new.

I just completed my first race, and I am tempted to go crazy and hire the highest experience staff I can. Is that a good idea, or should I ride out the season with who I have in order to build experience and save money?

Hire top quality staff if possible, except commercial manager. You can leave your commercial manager alone, as that staff position does not do anything for you until level five.
