I can't wait for the world to turn green again...
It wouldn't be so bad if our winters here were more bright and white and a lot less dull and brown.

Sweet picture! Your truck?

Yep... I've kept it far too clean over the past few months.
I did a little write-up on this particular outing:

Did someone say green? Why wait?

Oh God, please. Yes. Winter always sucks, but this one has been absolutely brutal. I've had enough.
I had a bad cold for half of December, I had a bad flu for half of January, my friends are all hibernating, my cars are caked in road salt, I'm tired, I'm sluggish, and I don't think I've seen the sky since November. Oh, and I turn 30 in a couple of weeks. That's not helping things.

I really wish we had more places around here to wheel a little bit. It's all either pasture or tight woods round here. And while I've got permission to hunt/be on probably 90 percent of the land in a 20 mile radius from me, the county back roads are in tight blocks parallel to the interstate or French Creek so there's no point. There's just no where to go.

I agree. I also can't wait for it to rain so we can get all this salt off of the roads...

I live in Louisiana so most of the local back roads are pretty unremarkable as well. Fortunately the vehicular playground that is the state of Arkansas is only ~50 miles north of me.

Seriously, this winter has been brutal. I just want one 40 degree day so I can wash my car and rotate my tires without threat of frost bite.

Working from home this year has kept me away from most of the winter bugs going around, but it has me even more stir crazy than in years past. I know it is getting bad when I start missing my daily commute...

I have no complaints about the weather (it was in the 50s here yesterday) - I just want the world to come back from the dead. Road adventures aren't nearly as thrilling when everything around you is so lifeless.

Ah remember you posting this picture some time ago, what year is your F-150? I've recently been perusing craigslist/autotrader for one.

It's a 2013... I'm not sure how much longer I'll have it (I'm not doing nearly as many truck things as I thought I would be doing when I bought it), but I've enjoyed it so far. The crew cab is amazingly spacious and, aside from fuel costs, I can't think of a better family road trip vehicle. Mine isn't a 4x4, but it hasn't had any trouble with anything I've encountered here in the south. I did have a few hairy moments on some steep gravel forest roads in the Smokies last summer, but I quickly learned that momentum was my friend...

Ah got ya, I feel like I would do truck things, but I wouldn't know till I have one, lol. I've been thinking about getting a boat, but I'd really only need to tow it twice, once from storage -> marina and once from marina -> storage. I know enough people with trucks that would want a free boat ride, lol. It'd be nice to have a truck to take it to other lakes. And trucks in general are very practical vehicles.

Since its here in PA I want to head to Rausch Creek off road park one day.my truck most likely won't be near stock by then.

Oh it has come in handy many times - new TVs, home depot trips, helping many friends move, etc. I just think I would be better off with a truck as a secondary vehicle rather than a primary and I'm spending too much money on this one for it to be a secondary vehicle.
When I first bought it I had visions of camper hauling and constant dirt road bombing, but those dreams have yet to come to fruition...

Yeah... A limiting factor for me is that I am currently street-parking. So I guess my first order of business in this regard would be to get a permanent spot somewhere so I wouldn't be worried about moving my vehicles around all the time to avoid being towed.
I hear ya on the visions coming to fruition, because all of those visions take MORE money beyond the purchase of the truck, haha.
